Interesting & Cool Build Concepts For Subclassing

So many ideas, tbh.

On my sorc, I'll probably grab NB cloak straight up.

I'll be happy to finally ditch storm-calling for a little bit and go with Winter's Embrace for some frost magic (but I'll miss Mage's Fury...)

Templar's healing line isn't super optimised or anything, but it'll be fun. DK fire line. There's just so much. Its a simple pleasure but im just gonna get a kick out of being able to do all this stuff on my main.

Winter's Embrace on my necromancer.
Necro/Nightblade vampire, like others have said. Also with Winter's Embrace.
DK firemage with Summoning line for a Dagon Cultist, or Sorc/Templar for a Meridia cultist.

I'm going to assign each skill line a number and use a random number generator for a build.

I'm going to streamline my characters into "masters" of each damage type, so whatever skill lines help achieve that goal in each case (supplemented with Scribed skills). From my tinkering on the PTS, subclassing has hammered home the fact that certain damage types continue to be overlooked when it comes to augmentation via class passives, which is a shame really given there are enough damage types for pretty much every class to specialise in a different one of them.

It is unnecessary at this point. We all have an understanding of what subclassing is going to do, and rehashing it every time theres a topic is not adding to the topic. No, YOU have an understanding of what subclassing is going to do, there are new people learning about the ins and outs daily, if not hourly regarding subclassing.

As old threads get buried, and new ones arise, its good to have a balanced conversation that illustrates the pros and cons.

And they will be able to look into those other threads that come up when they come up, that's fine and I agree that conversation around the heavily discussed topic of subclassing is necessary however there is a time and a place for that conversation and is not necessary at all times, especially when the topic is not discussing the ins and outs of subclassing, but what new builds people are interested in making. If you want to create another 6 threads about subclassing go ahead. Far be it from me to stop someone doing something that doesnt affect me.

Except that creating a new build 100% coincides with the ins and outs of subclassing. You can't separate the discussion of "builds and cool concepts" without also discussing the pro and CONS of subclassing, they are intertwined, not mutually exclusive as you suggest.

Allow me to reword this a little bit. Did not have too much time earlier.

So, I'll put it simply. Yes, there are some cool combos and some things that we need, that subclass can provide. I'm really busy atm so maybe I don't see the big picture with 100% clarity yet, however on first attempts to create something new, I'm seeing some problems already.

Now, I know you want some different ideas about subclassing. And in fairness, I think it's going to take time to see what can and cannot be done. However, it's just too obvious to me at least, what can't be done. Ok so that is what I don't understand, I'm like many of you, I want to try something new and use some things I wish certain class had at other times. I'm just disappointed because it's like we're moving forward in one way but many of the old concerns and things that not just me but alot of us want to see are still missing. And that matters to us, more than new features. Ok, so try to understand, there's many games out there with better features than ESO. Ok. But it's not eso. When you talk about subclass diversity and all, ok what about the things that have been pulled from the game, things that were around for years and many of us enjoyed using and now they're gone.

And that's what bugs me about this. This is just a new way of using what already exists. And that's important But that's not what we really want. Many of us have paid alot to continue participating in this game and again, not seeing what I like, not seeing what others like, and then paying money for not getting what we like is a problem. I'm sure you will agree with me on that. That said, ZOS, ok let's say I want the necro summons skill line or sorc summons or whatever in with another class ok. Well, sorc summons line has never been great, the summons once served some purpose but now they are obsolete. I agree with others and it sounds like some of the devs as well who think the sorc summons line is pretty terrible. Necro summons are still useful but not with this cap you put on them.

I want to look at this and feel free to put together something cool and new but the game is still missing great things that would have made this better, like Templar jabs, and you're crashing Necro completely with this summons cap. We need to talk about this. The thread itself doesn't matter because I can't make something work that's fundamentally broken. And by capping the summons, that means and especially compared to other classes such as Warden, Necro is really behind them. Do I use Necro stuff at a loss? Do I ignore it completely? It would be reprehensible for me to make posts about what I imagine should work and what I know that is broken. Someone else on here suggested like a Summons build, ok great. And we could use that example, but you know what, it's terrible. Why is it terrible because Sorc summons are obsolete and necro summons are 'canceled' due to the summons cap. I mean what should we say, "hey I have this great idea for a subclass build" but why even entertain the thought any further because the underlying issues with Sorc and apparently now with Necro summons were never resolved. After years. Never resolved.

Hopefully you see what I'm saying. I mean, ZOS you have some good ideas, sure. Sribing, Vengeance and now this Subclass feature has proven that. But why keep the fans from the things we really want to see? Like a clean, epic and lore friendlier Templar jabs. Flurry too. You know, I don't even use Jabs or Flurry anymore. Btw, thank you for making the Templar Beams dodge able. Ok, see that was good, that was something that needed to be done and I'm so tired of getting beamed down. Just ball groups and others just beaming me down and nothing else. Not even trying. So thank you for that. But subclass or not, new features or not, are not going to change the fact that we still aren't getting the things we really want, and I would be so bold to say the things we paid for, from this game. I just don't think it's fair to pay to be ignored kinda. Not saying you guys aren't trying but why not give the fans what they want? I just don't understand why that is such a problem these days. What would it cost you guys do just fix templar jabs animation? It's awful, flurry is awful. And nothing else is going to change things like this until they are actually fixed.

You should assign dollar values to them and put them on a wheel so you can say "Big money, big money!" when you spin it.

My first (console) main was a NB. When I moved to PC I made my new main a sorc, but I missed NB skills if I'm honest. So I'll probably be using the Shadow line for Cloak and Dawn's Wrath for Radiant Destruction.
