Nope. It should be magic damage and use a plant animation of thorns popping up from the ground instead of (ugh) bugs.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

I see why the want for animal companion abilities to be frost is there. But no animal companion abilities are frost damage. They are ALL magic or bleed.

We need to start thinking of skill trees as their own thing. If Wardens need more frost damage abilities, they need to come from the winters embrace line. If that’s not possible, then perhaps the mages guild line would be appropriate.

As the once staunch advocate of frost shalks, I no longer believe they should be frost damage as subclassing now exists.

Burning Talons is Fire, Corrosive Armor is Poison, in 2 different trees than Ardent Flame with the Fire/Poison buff.

So I still say yes, or give us back the Magic Damage Bonus that was there until a few years ago.

This doesn't mean there cannot be a first. You have pets that do shock damage, why not one that can do frost?

From a thematic standpoint, it seems like shock or fire would make more sense; we have thunderbugs and the fire-spitting version whose name eludes me, but I don't recall any frost shalks.
