It ISN'T what we asked for - it's essentially 2 mules or several chests that can be accessed from the placement menu. It doesn't have suitable capacity for serious house decorators.

They are stackable though. you could have 1 million items of 500 different styles in it.

The vault could be useful when moving lots for items from one house to another without having to make multiple trips.

I might use it just for the antiquity furnishings. A lot of them I don’t have the full codex for yet, and for some that I do the price of buying one to try out is fairly high. I like to keep them around to try in various housing setups, and if I save one in the bank, then I might as well save all of them since they stack there.

I don’t think it makes up for the loss in value of eso plus now that seasons are out, though. I could live without it.

After all this time and everyone wanting this, it's not a craft bag with infinite slots??

I don't care - it's still a huge step in the right direction! A 500-slot furniture storage chest PLUS stackable writs? YES PLEASE!!!

They’ve already stated that an infinite crafting bag is not possible.

500 stackable slots is more than sufficient for me, I am happy with this number.

Nice to have additional furniture storage, 500 slots each stacking to 1000 is huge, thank you!

I wish it would have been 1000 slots with stacks of 500 each (or even just stacks to 200). That would have better fit my needs as I don't have any single item over 100 each, so a lot of the extra stack space won't be used in my case.

    I don't.

You don't. But almost every major housing person I know has multiple storage houses as well. It's great that's not the way you work and think, but please realize that this is a real issue in game for many other people.

For me, it's buying the Luxury furnishings when they're available, and storing them until I use them.
It's also buying the furnishings from Home Goods furnishings that aren't available at all of the Home Goods Furnishers. I like to be able to go to a house and see most of the varieties of shrubs available in the game, see the the names of the ones I want, and *then* look up that name on UESP, find the seller, and then go buy as many as I want.

For instance, the great red vines, the Vines, Dragonfire Ivy Swath and Vines, Dragonfire Ivy Climber, are only available from the two Elsweyr Home Goods furnishers. I never remember that.

I use the preview feature in the purchase tab to see how things would look in my space before I craft or buy anything.

I mean, me too sometimes. But you can't place anything, you can't live with it overnight and come back the next day and see if you still like it, and for some items you can't even get a decent view of them.

It also doesn't show Luxury Furnishings or Achievement Furnishings in the purchase tab, so it does have some limitations.

A private guild bank does the same. 500 slots of stackable items, this include furniture, that are tradable. The ONLY thing this does is allow bound items to be deposited. Private guild bank may be cheaper then this thing.

I use the large free houses I got that have 700, let me say that again, 700 slots for furniture. A large house is better for storage this this thing.

A 500 slot bank vault/storage chest would be more useful then this thing.

    ZOS fumble again with feedback.

Players ask for a large bank vault, what we got was 500 and restricted to furniture only.

Players ask for a furniture bag, what we got was 500 slot limited storage chest for furniture only.

ZOS took two feature players asked for and combined the worst of them into this. THIS is why folks are bitching. This is neither a large bank vault nor a furniture bag.

A 700 slot house is not better than this. At least not if you got stacks of items. If you have 40 each of 500 furniture, they will not be able to fit in the house, but they will be in the vault.

I can't understand how complaining the housing community can be. We got some extra storage for housing that seems like it will be easy to obtain and access, and it's not good enough for some.
I for one am happy for the coming storage. Will be able to store a lot of my luxury furnisher items in it, and that combined with the storage chests will likely free up some storage houses so they can be turned into proper builds.

I posted this in the PTS feedback thread. Basically what if the limit was tied somehow to home ownership, with 500 slots being the starting base amount.
Adding to a thought I had a while ago - what if 500 was the baseline, and it increased based on the number and type of houses the player owns? For example, for each of the following:

    Inn Rooms: +10 Slots Each
    Apartments: +15 Slots Each
    Small Houses: +25 Slots Each
    Medium Houses: +50 Slots Each
    Large Houses: +75 Slots Each
    Manors: +100 Slots Each

Total for all Inn Rooms: +110 Slots
Total for all Apartments: +45 Slots
Total for all Small Houses: +250 Slots
Total for all Medium Houses: +750 Slots
Total for all Large Houses: +1575 Slots
Total for all Manors: +4800 Slots

Total slots if all houses are obtained: 8,030 slots maximum

Keep in mind that the vast majority of players will not have anywhere near all of the houses, with many (perhaps most?) only having the homes that are obtainable for free in-game.

Some other things to consider in regards to raising the limit:

    - It does not include those who don't have ESO+
    - Those who do not care about housing will not use it, or use it very minimally
    - Many houses are only briefly available, limiting the ability to max out the number of slots
    - Only the biggest "whales" will have the max due to expensive Crown Store exclusive homes
    - Adds a small additional incentive to spend on the Crown Store for those who can afford it

Just wanted to echo what Rich said in the stream. The choice for 500 stackable slots is to make sure we maintain performance and not put additional stress on the server. This was a solid number to make sure we could provide the furnishing vault without causing a hit to performance.

Everyone I know just has a random large house and they just dump furniture on the ground. This HAS to be worse than adding some more slots in the vault.
instead of 1 row representing 5 paintings, we have 5 paintings that have unique locations inside a house. you can't tell me this is more performant

My plan is to use the furnishings vault to store furnishings I have the most copies of.

If all 500 slots of the furnishings vault get used up, I'll most likely put other furnishings that I have several copies of in my six storage containers, giving me an additional 360 slots for stacks of furnishings.

If those 860 slots still aren't enough, I'll put any other furnishings I've got multiple copies of in my bank.

Anything else can get dumped into one or more of my "ware" houses-- unless it's something I want to place in a house, and then I'll just keep it in my main character's inventory, since furnishings which are stored in a house can't be directly placed inside another house the way furnishings in the furnishings vault, storage containers, bank, and inventory can.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

We need the armory to store the actual equipment for our builds. This would free up room in my character's personal inventory as well as space in my trunks.

Maybe not for you or some others but for the other half of the "serious house decorators" myself included, this works WONDERS. We should spend more time thanking the developers for all the hard work they put in, instead of everyone always raining down crap on them. They have TRULY made this game BLOSSOM especially in the last 2 years or so. Since necrom there have been MAJOR changes. Major POSITIVE changes. Just BE HAPPY we have a set of devs who care. Name ONE other game of this size where you can log onto a forum and get a DIRECT answer from a LEAD DEV? Just one.... they not only listen to us... the COMMUNICATE. Most of yall complain not understanding a single thing about how servers and gaming actually WORKS. it's not like this is a real tangible world they can just hand us a massive vault in without consequence. There are limits for a game of this size... which operates on a single server (well 2) you can log on at ANY time and as long as your friends are online you can port RIGHT to them without having to bounce between several servers etc. There are going to be limits on certain things so that it doesnt cause issues with performance. I, for one, am extremely proud to be an eso player and am so thankful for the team we have at zenimax really trying their best to give us everything we ask for. They may not be ABLE to give us something we all ask for to a t... but do you NOT see that they're trying? We asked for pvp to get some attention... they're doing it ... we've asked for a furniture bag... they found a way to make it happen... they've given us multiple free homes MASSIVE ONES AT THAT. Amazing gifts. Great log in rewards skill styles... and now SUBCLASSING. It's a great time to be an ESO player. Be proud of that. I wish everyone would give them a chance and stop putting them down all the time. It makes us all look like ungrateful a-holes. I assure you though, we are not all ungrateful. They do weekly maintenance... constant bug fixes etc. When the servers go down they're working nonstop to get them back up and that RARELY ever happens. Think about all the positives... just try and put yourself in their shoes for a min.... they're a great team... and I personally am so thankful for them and you should be too.

To ZOS: I have several houses that are nothing but warehouses for furnishings. My home storage chests have been full of furnishings for years. There are literally thousands of furnishings in the game and you keep adding more, while storage has remained the same. 500 slots for furnishing storage is not even CLOSE to enough. It's better than nothing, but "better than nothing" is not what players have wanted for literally years now. We need higher furnishing limits and an infinite furniture bag like the crafting bag, period. And if the servers can't handle it, then UPGRADE YOUR SERVERS! Instead of trying to rearrange Cyro and all the other attempts to keep cramming an ever increasing number of quarts into a pint pot. Seriously...
