Healing is not mitigation. All the healing in the world won’t save you from a large single attack that deals more damage than your health bar. A proper block or high resists plus protection buffs would *mitigate* the damage however.
Healing is still very important because you need to recover lost health and sustain your health. But mitigation is also important so that you don’t die in fractions of a second.
Ring of the pale order is the best healing / sustain tool because it’s always active, and scales with your damage. You still want a burst defensive ability on your bars (a damage shield is a good option) to hit when you’re under 25% or aren’t in a position to hit with your attacks. Usually your class will have an easy to apply method of healing and that combines with ROTPO is more than enough to sustain through 99% of content. Sorcerers have critical surge, Nightblade has leeching strikes, Templar jabs heals, arcanist beam has damage shield procs etc.
Hyperioxes is a great resource for solo builds. Probably the most effective out there. Dooma also makes good solo builds that are a little more user friendly but less min/max.

Backbar: endless hail, caltrops, poison arrow
Frontbar: keep circling to keep them in the DOTs while spammiing attacks. If there are alot of adds, use whirling blades, otherwise focus boss. Keep moving to stay out of red. If health drops, hit vigor.
Is there a more effective way to do this? Basically, just keep them in the DOTs, spammable, and keep moving out of red.
I am interested if other classes have a better way? Like using a companion to tank? Or something else?
