Palomino Horse Stats - ESO Store

The imperial, the eso store horse and the common 17k horse are the same.

All horses can be upgraded 49 times by feeding which costs you 250 each feeding.

The early horses are pretty worthless.. as they will never be as fast as the fast horse

I suggest you make your first imperial or eso horse a pack horse for normal playing to give you more pack space. Do this by feeding it pack food.

Save up and buy 40k horse for speed. Upgrade it only with speed feed so you end up with the fastest horse... then pull it out of the stable when you want speed over pack space..

I wouldn't waste your first 17k just to get a lame horse.

A question for those that have upgraded their horse a bit...when does this head armour start to show ?
It's just I don't personally like it and would like to know how far I can go without it.

I'm not really into buying cash shop items in a subscription based game, but a horse is close to a MUST in this game. And with this horse being pretty decent and account wide I'd grab it - don't want to save up to 17.5K gold and get the horse around level 20. Also, I think ESO is worth the money (and it's still cheaper than the Imperial Edition upgrade :p)

Gold gets a lot better after level 10. Just made level 30 last night and I have spent about 30000+ on backpack and bank upgrades as well as feeding the horse each day to level it. Also add in repair bills and I still have 13000+ gold on me know.

I would say I have easily earned well over 50000+ on gold so far.

Just don't buy any of the stuff people are spamming in chat. Since almost all quest rewards are Bind on Equip and lot of that stuff is items you will get eventually via questing. Even the stuff that is not will be out leveled fairly quickly.

To be honest, although I was tempted by the new horse, and really want to buy a nice horse, I am really glad it isn't better than the basic horse.

It would set a really bad precedence in the game if they already started selling virtual "stuff" that gave a gameplay mechanic advantage to players who pay real money in "micro-transactions". I didn't pay £50 + £8.99/m for the privilege of spending yet more money in a P2W system like a F2P game.

All real money purchases should be for aesthetic/vanity items for players to have more individuality and attachment to their characters. You should never be able to (for example) buy a "godly sword of death" for £50 if you want to be serious about PvP.

Although I dont want to see any significant advantages to buying Cash Shop Items. Paying the equvilant of an extra months sub should of atleast banked someone a Horse with stats equal to one of the Horses that are worth 17-42k gold. I mean the worst thing is this horse is apparently unusable until level 10 so its not like its going to give anyone a run for their money besides PvP. Where the Fastest Horse is going to be the most common sight.

yup, you should go to stables and buy it for 1 gp.

15$ is indeed ridiculous, especially in comparison with the IE upgrade for only 20$.

If you want to play PVP in Cyroddil then this horse is a MUST, you cannot follow your team without it... besides that 15$ is 2 coctails in a bar, not a big deal imo

If you think $15 is too much, dont buy it. It's not the best horse anyway. Which is good, because else it would be p2w.
I've got the Imperial Horse so I won't buy it since the stats are the same. It's definitely a more unique horse than the imperial though!

The horse and offer sounds fine to me. Its not the same white imperial horse as from the Imperial Edition and everyone who only wants a horse can buy one since it speeds up traveling by quite a bit. The stats are also fair imo. That 10 points difference are just about 9 days of playing and feeding the horse yourself ^^.

Well... I love ESO. I love it so much, I just woke up, saw a horse for sale on the site, was so excited, I didn't research it, and I bought it. Now that I see its the same horse as my CE version, but with a different paint job...Im not as excited. I am using the Imperial horse as extra bag slots, and would have liked a faster horse to start upgrading, but this gives me a great excuse to start upgrading 2 horses at the same time:) Keep up the great work!

    No.

The whole point of the cash store is to sell useless cosmetic crap. As soon as they start selling anything that has an actual impact on gameplay, it will mark the beginning of the end.

Seems expensive and I won't be buying one, don't really need one since travel isn't really that bad with all of the free porting from wayshrines. And I guess it could be worse...

could be like WoW where you pay $25.00 for a stupid ugly mount and so many mindless drones will pay for it and call it the most beautiful mount to ever exist, so much bad taste but hey what can ya do

Or could be like lord of the rings online, lots and lots of mounts for people to buy.
But there you at least can earn currency ingame to buy the mounts if you so desire, and earn some extra mounts from deeds/achievements and festivals.
The last option is how my now very retired accounts main has around 83 different mounts.

From the baseline mount (base stats do not matter):
    +20 Apples = Leather Harness
    +20 Hay = Head Armor
    +20 Oats = Saddle Bags
at lvl 50 = Horse Blanket
Since you can only update 49 times, you currently can only get two of the visual updates in addition to the horse blanket.

I was expecting it to have at least some base stats, but it's nice that there's people to confirm this. It looks unique, but not worth having then.

I know this thread was necroed but since we're here :) ...

Something I've not found out, if you buy a 42k with +10 to carrying slots or stamina can you put +49 into it as well so that they end up with the extra 10 or is their level cap still 50, ie. only 39 upgrades?

You can put all +49 points into the same bonus stat that your 42k horse comes with. I have noticed that at lv49 my horse got a bonus point in all 3 stats when I fed him so he ended up with 75% speed, 11 stamina and 1 slot. So if you feed your 42k horse the same type of food all the way, you should be able to reach a max of 75% speed, 70 stamina and 60 slots respectively.

Head armor shows after putting 20 points into stamina. Riding straps show after 20 points into speed, and saddle bags show after 20 points into carrying capacity.

Also, for the people saying "save up and buy a 40k mount", I disagree, at least at this point. The basic horses work fine for anything in the game right now, even pvp, and they're going to be releasing new mounts soon(ish) that you'll have to buy and level up all over again. Most players dont have 40k to toss onto something that they might want to replace in a few months.

EDIT: I provided an answer on how to get the horse armor, but I removed it as this one is much better.

My Imperial Horse with 20 bags and the rest Speed seems to keep up with the speedy horses just fine. Sure they pull away in a race but I don't see enough of a difference in speed to think it is a horse I need to replace with a more expensive one.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The only real need for "upgrading" your horse would be for cosmetic purposes.

I for example have bought the "Baggy horse" Chomps for a couple of my characters just because its so very pretty.
