Can't activate Imperial edition without paying additional subscription...

wghewittub17_ESO
So i am confused.. just gotten my digital Imperial game key.. when adding it to my account under "Redeem" code it then takes me to select a subscription or add a gamecode, this can't be skipped.. so i need to pay another 12 GBP to activate my imperial key.. which already gives me 30 days, why do i need to pay for another 30 days?

You sure ot doesnt just want a card? Sometimes you need to put a card on the account when you open it.

im not going to activated my Imperial edition yet -but i have a question.
Is there a option to choose game cards as payment method?

And are you seriously charged upwards after choosing sub plan?

Basically they need the billing info for when you run out of 30 days, you can cancel before then

Thanks for posting the image. Second line, right under "30 days" says that a subscription is required, and they mean it.

If you pay by game card or buy time directly online, you get 30 days free plus 30 days. Non-refundable, as I understand it. If you subscribe with a credit card as a recurring charge, they won't charge you right away so you can cancel if you want. Again, as I understand it.

That sentence only means that there is a subscription fee model, not that you have to pay at least a month to unlock the 30 days included in the purchase.

This happened to me to but it didn't charge me because I only have 7 bucks on my card so if you enter it it won't charge you until the 30 days free is up

I think it will charge you in advance if you pay with Paypal because Paypal will bill it as you use the service. Paypal will not wait to get your money when your "free" starting 30 days ends as it happens when you subscribe directly with your credit card. As I know there is no way to authorize a future debt in your Paypal account but I must be wrong because I don´t use it for a long time.

It will also charge your cc. other players have posted about this.

Regarding paypal. You don't authorize the recharge on your end. They can/will charge your paypal account on a monthly basis though. Paypal allows for that on the vendor side.

They just do it to authorize/validate your payment method.

I paid via Paypal and it was immediately cancelled and the charge is now sitting on my CC under "uncleared" and hopefully drops off.

Here is what it looks like on Paypal:
03 Apr 2014 Authorization To Zenimax Online Studio

    Canceled
The seller canceled this payment, and the money has been returned to your account.
Details Authorization To Zenimax Online Studio 5HH40370 -€12.99 EUR

It is however rather silly that they use the full amount to "validate" , i suggest you don't buy a 3,6,9 month subscription right now as they will dump that entire amount on your card as well. They are suppose to only validate like all other companies do by doing a $1 charge which drops off after a week or two. Now you will sit with the entire sub charge on your card and can't access the money until it drops off.
