Either the earlier “yeah it’s fixed” posts were from lucky players, or, whatever the fix is, it’s being rolled out server type by type
(Probably PC; then Xbox then PS).
Problem still exists on PS-NA and PS-EUBuilding stuff on EU-PS4 since 20150 -

✭Honestly, seems pretty universal to me. In the past, when ESO has had server routing issues I have used a VPN to connect from different waypoints and been able to get in though routing not effected by whatever bad switch they had. I tried 8 or so different waypoints around the world tonight and got the same error though. I can't log in on any of my accounts at the moment.I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.2 -

This is an unusual time period. They had to have multiple outside the norm maintenances and then they have been getting DDOS'ed. It's been more downtime total than I can remember for years
My issue with what’s been happening, if it is in fact DDOS again, it means it’s happening basically weekly at this point. I don’t know if anyone is to blame for this, but for a company that has stated they’ve made US$2billion from the game, their DDOS protection/mitigation is lacklustre. [snip] It might not only be the F5 load balancers and login portal, but I'm guessing some of our accounts suffered damage on the backend (DB). I could be wrong. It was a hard crash and was wondering if anyone else suffered the same.
My partner has been getting the same thing on his computer for a while now when he exits game, but nothing is ever wrong on his system. I'm not getting that error, but I've been noticing that more and more often lately, my desktop taskbar completely freezes up if I play ESO for long sessions, until I can only swap windows with Alt+Tab and have to restart Windows Explorer. Absolutely nothing else I run causes this problem. This only started after one of the February patches.—PC/NA, never Steam—

This is relatively normal behavior since they implemented some "anticheat" into the game (several big updates back) that started playing with Windows Explorer. On Windows 7 (not suported anymore) it even restarts it. It has been pointed out that after shutting down the game, this behavior results in a black screen and Windows Explorer freezing for about a minute. But ZoS can do whatever it wants since it is Microsoft property and can interface with Windows. No other game or program I've ever tried has this behavior.
I have to exit the game with ALT+F4 or Windows 11 freezes for a minute.Really sorry for my english0 -

Sometimes, due to work, you have to run the game via RDP on another computer. windows 11. If I restart the main one, then after connecting via RDP, I find very often that the game is closed with an error. It started about 2 months ago.
