I have had no such problem, but I'm on PC.

I'm on PC and I can assure everyone that the block bug is still a major issue.
Yesterday some friends and I went to run a quick Bloodroot Forge hard mode. I was the tank. Roughly half the time my block didn't block. Blocking mitigated nothing. This is a dungeon I've done on hard mode at least 20 times. It's not hard if block works. If block isn't working even a good experienced tank on a good build it's a one shot death and the group wipes.

Do you use a controller? I use a mouse and keyboard. Trying to help widdle down what the cause might be, because I really have not seen any current block bug and I tank all the time.

I use mouse and keyboard. Why is it hard to believe there is still a block bug?

I'm not in disbelief nor am I arguing, but ZOS can't fix a bug if all they know is that there is a bug when the bug isn't so rampant that you can have it happen just by testing it with no context. Since it doesn't happen to me, but it happens to both of you during normal play, then there is some variable that we can at least help widdle down to.
Edit: Next thing I'd ask is if you're holding down block or if you're just trying to block specific attacks. I have a bad habit of holding down block a lot, so that could be another reason why I'm not getting it?

Maybe try to run some of the more end game content where the monsters hit hard enough to one shot a prepared tank and see how it goes.
It was obvious to the rest of my group that block wasn't working correctly. We've done that run together on hard mode plenty of times with no issues. The block bug is still popping up. That's just the way it is...even if you aren't personally experiencing it.

I uh… do. In the past few weeks I’ve tanked: Sunspire HM (MT lokke, MT yoln, OT nahvi), Bal Sunnar HM, Shipwrights HM, Dread Cellar HM, Lair of Maarselok HM, Moon Hunter Keep HM, Castle Thorn HM…..
The bug is just not happening to me, I’m trying to help understand why because ZOS cannot fix the bug if they don’t know what causes it. Just saying there’s a bug isn’t incredibly helpful if they can’t reproduce it easily.

There is information here on how to reproduce a block bug which I have encountered:
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/650989/current-block-bug#latest
It may be the same one hitting the tanks in my HM progs.
I'm kind of wondering if this isn't what's been happening to me lately in PvP. […]

Not really frightening, more on par for this course.
