Would you still subscribe to ESO+ if the Craft Bag was base game?

Only for a month at a time when there is a subscriber freebie that I want, such as Zenith-var.

The only reason I need more carrying space is because of the materials, so that takes care of that.

Since the outfit system was implemented I rarely wear costumes.

    Dunno.

Will however not happen I guess as the infinite bag requires more data storage and someone has to pay for it.

If that was a concern they wouldn't include the craft bag in free trials of ESO+. When the trial ends any items in there stay, until you remove them or use them, so they're already storing the data for everyone who has done a trial, as well as anyone who used to have ESO+ and cancelled it.

We made it work in '14, you can make it work now.

I didn't play in 2014, because the subscription was required. I played the beta and thought the game was ok, but not worth paying monthly for. I kept checking back waiting for something which would convince me it was worth it, and instead they announced they were switching to buy-to-play, and I bought the game that day.

I don't get people that refuse to play a game with a subscription.

I've scraped by on less than 700 a month and still did one to a game here and there.

    Guess I'll never understand it.

I'm afraid that the introduction of the term "Free to Play" led to a sense of entitlement in some players, while there are always going to be genuine cases of those who cannot afford to pay on a fixed monthly basis. Some players also prefer a cash shop model where they can pick and choose which bits of the game they want to pay for.

There's a lot of reasons why someone might be averse to subscriptions.

    Some that I've heard are things like;

    - Not wanting to pay for a game they've already paid for (Notably because many subscription games still have the initial purchase as well as DLC/Expansions that have to be purchased)

    - The overall cost of such a game (You play a game long enough and you're racking up $1000's just for that game... Meanwhile think of the amount of complete games you could have instead purchased with all that money over that time)

    - Subscriptions add a pressure to play. Whereby you feel you have to play at least X hours per month to justify the money you're sinking into the game.

    - The cost of the subsctiption relative to their disposable income. Siphoning away what can be non-trivial amounts of someone's paycheck isn't always possible for folks (Keep in mind, cost of living varies depending on location and the household - There may be dependants to factor in like children or pets).

    - The value of a subscription's price might not be there. Which can be especially true when many subscription based games are full of time wasting bloat designed to artificially stretch out how long it takes to complete tasks to maximize time spent playing the game which isn't worth the overall cost (It's why I stopped playing FFXIV for example. Why would I pay a monthly subscription when the game is only relevant for about 1 week every 3 months when the new story content drops? While the rest of the time it's just grind boring time wasting content)

Many of these same points also crop up in relation to modern "Live Service" games too, which are the evolution of subscriptions whereby mandatory subs are replaced by optional Battle Passes and egregiously priced "Micro"transactions (Which incidentally, the few remaining subscription games have also incorporated. Games like WoW, ESO, FFXIV, Runescape all have their overpriced cash shops in addition to their subscription services)

But I'd heavily advise against making the craft-bag base-kit.

    Convenience sells.

I'll splurge on Warframe now and then because I don't want to grind for some things and will be content with paying for the grinding of others.

ESO's economy on the otherhand is an entirely different beast. To their detriment, IMO.

They likely include the Craft-bag since short-term it's likely easier to not change anything about an ESO+ subscription (even if it's free).

I maintain my sub mostly for the craft bag and somewhat for the doubled bank space. Content access is off the table by this point as I mostly started from a Collection and used my subscription crowns to buy the rest, making the sub more of a "rent to own" setup in my view. But I log into the other server every once in a great while and make use of the sub's content access on those occasions. The rest of the sub perks are more a "whatever" than they are deal-makers, although I should probably check the item count in the Coldharbour Warehouse before firmly committing to that position.

To the question asked, though, adding the craft bag to the base-game would substantially lessen the subscription's immediate utility. I don't know that I'd cancel my sub if the craft bag came from another source, but the idea would have some serious weight.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

I have, however, I know they're not usually going to spend the money on food.

I've purchased them food. I'm often refused.

I played right from my first Beta weekend until now, I have always been subbed/ESO+.

Although we had no craft bag, there were way less materials and no furniture.....

Now I have a craft bag and way, way too many "garages"!

The craft bag is not needed. Not even if you play daily for hours.

Up until U35 I subbed for 8 straight years. Now, looking back, I'm wondering why.

The crafting bag is a main draw, but the double bank space and double housing slots are also essential for me.

I own all the zone DLCs but not the dungeon ones. I don’t run them much anymore but I still appreciate being able to if I need to and that is part of eso+ as well.

*raises hand* I did! I stopped subbing consistently after they decided to include Crown Crates in their monetization.
