Zos Forgot Werewolves For Halloween...

Title sums it up, but we got all kinds of cool spooky stuff for vampires, necromancers, witches and so on, but basically *nothing* for werewolves. Hell, even the new Halloween boss can't be fought in werewolf form.

The only werewolf-y thing is the ancient old Werewolf Lord polymorph they put back in the shop recently and it's not even there for Halloween, it's time came and left already.
Even the Halloween calendar contest they released included everything BUT werewolves. Has ZOS forgotten that werewolves are one of the staples of Halloween? Just as prominent as witches, vampires, ghosts and so on?

I know nothing will be done, but it's saddening.

I'd pay for some Werewolf Transformation skill styles! Some kind of customization for my Werewolf form's fur would be nice.

It would be nice if maybe an applied skin pattern transferred over to the transform. :)

You'd be scared of a beast with the cleverness of a man and the strength to tear your arm off in one swing.

Werewolves ARE a part of The Witch's Festival, you can choose them as a fear when encountered by a priest out in the wild. ZOS just neglects them.

Very sad indeed to me werewolf is one of the most important monsters representing Halloween. Even google lists it first in a random search.

This reminds me of an interesting werewolf skins request thread from 4 years ago!

People have been asking for Werewolf skins for years. Do you think the least that could be implemented is this technique? I don't think this would require much effort. A little mapping of body parts, some blending mode(s) and opacity over the werewolf model and you can have everyone's player skin appear on their werewolf form. Thoughts?

    Werewolf-Skin.png

While I do support the idea of using Skins and/or Face/Body Markings on our Werewolf form, because I think tattoos on our Werewolf form (like Balorgh has on his) would look awesome, I'd also like the option to select existing fur colors (like brown or grey) that we don't get to use with Werewolf Berserker or Pack Leader.

    I love my wolf.

I get that it’s a meme to play werewolf, but it’s so much fun to play. But still, please throw us a bone at least (pun entirely intended)

I’m begging for werewolf color skill styles.

I want my wolf to be brown. As such, I keep his transformation unmorphed (even though that’s more grey than brown, but I’ll take it), but it’s such a self-nerf that I can barely do any content with him as he’s supposed to look.

Skill styles are absolutely the answer, just let us choose our fur color!

Agreed. I want a brown werewolf SO BAD, or even just the cosmetic choice to keep the unmorphed color. Just ANYTHING.

Werewolf is really fun to play, even in it's neglected state, I am 'content' with it and just want some cosmetic appreciation for it.

Yeah, my wolf is a natural ginger, so the reddish-brown color (that we see on the summoned direwolves!) would be perfect for him
    dpvarnhcpsu5.png
But yeah, even the default grey is… ok. But not the black or white.

I also hope we get a Grimoire coming at some point too. At least now were-tanking is possible (and also a lot of fun), but it’d be fun to give more skill options or add something like a ‘heal others’ thing.

I also think that werewolves should be balanced as their own class. I feel like the wolves’ skills are balanced against other class skills, but the biggest issue is that werewolves don’t also have an ult they can throw out for big deeps.

Still, it’s so much fin to play. I have mine in stupid-but-thematically-appropriate sets of Blood Moon and Savage Werewolf, and seeing him proc Blood Moon and then wail on someone with fast light attacks is great.

I have high hopes for next Witches Festival. We have an entire year to potentially get some of the following:
    • Werewolf Transformation Skill Styles for changing the fur color, or maybe even Skin/Marking support for further in-form customization.
      • Non-transformation Werewolf Skill Styles would be cool too, like maybe a bloody style for Infectious Claws or an ice style for Roar.
    • Werewolf Grimoires/Scribing skills for improving and diversifying our available in-form playstyles. This should fix complaints about the lack of a negative effect or snare purge, the lack of a heal over time, the lack of a snare, the lack of Stealth Detection, and so on.
    • A Werewolf Companion for those of us who enjoy Companions and want to have a Werewolf character to adventure with us. I know I have a few build ideas for their Werewolf skills, and it'd be cool if they could extend our own Werewolf Transformation timer via the Call of the Pack passive while they're transformed.
    • The ability to sneak, so we can play through March of Sacrifices and fight Hollowjack without needing to revert form, as well as access other item sets which require crouching.
    • Any number of other pain points about the Werewolf playstyle to be addressed, such as:
      • The lack of a crossheal (no Healer playstyle), the lack of a proper heal over time, and every morph of Hircine's Bounty scaling off of Max Health.
      • Pounce changing into Carnage and then being stuck with Carnage due to the enemy either being dead or being out of range again.

I know I've got a lengthy list of hopes for the Werewolf playstyle for next year's Witches Festival, but I hope (as usual) that there will be development for at least one of these bullet points by then.

A lot of people assume that Werewolf Transformation Skill Styles would mean something crazy like a pink-furred werewolf, but I highly doubt we'll get unnatural fur colors. It'd be far easier to start with the fur colors that already exist, such as brown and grey, then make fur colors based off of in-game wolf designs, such as that reddish fur you've described:

Unironically, I think ripped clothing would look really cool on my werewolf. I use ripped clothing on my humanoid form appearance, so it'd be cool if something similar to that carried over!

Though, the only precedent for torn clothing on a TES werewolf comes from the Whiterun Protector card in The Elder Scrolls: Legends:

I totally agree with you both that I'd like to match my character's hair color to my werewolf form's fur color. I have one PvP character who uses white hair specifically because I know the Pack Leader morph is the better option for PvP. It is inconvenient when I use a character for both PvE and PvP and have to switch between the black fur of Werewolf Berserker and the white fur of Pack Leader because of the builds I've set up.

That being said, I have a few concerns about some edge cases regarding some race's hair colors. Every playable race has a different selection of hair colors:
    bbfftdcolw1t.png
Most of these would look great on a werewolf! In fact, most of the reds, browns, and greys can be closely mapped to some existing wolf or werewolf fur color seen in-game.

My chief concern would be regarding the Argonian hair colors, which are meant to color the feathers on their head. This isn't to say that support for mapping one's hair color to their werewolf form shouldn't happen, but I think certain exceptions should be made — it's hard to imagine a TES werewolf with green or purple fur.
