2025 new Companions ?

Since we now have 2 companions that are starting in Aldmeri territory will we see new companions in the Daggerfall and Ebonheart territories next year ?
During the afternoon of Loredas, 6 Sun’s Dawn 2e578 a big piece of Aetherius fell to Nirn. It was the first major piece of Aetherius to fall on Nirn in more than five hundred years. It scattered around the world as millions of shards. It was rapidly documented by Lady Cinnabar of Taneth in her pamphlet Aetherial Fragments that "... when three shards meet, they re-form into a silvery prism by unknown process and confer the power unlocked by the merger to a nearby being." The Order of the Black Worm, commonly known as the Worm Cult, reappeared in Tamriel shortly thereafter and some of its members are avidly searching said shards.
In the last week of First Seed 2e579, an arcane explosion occurred in the Imperial City — a night of storms, and trembling terrain. They named it the "Soulburst". That day Emperor Varen Aquilarios disappeared without a trace. His wife, Clivia Tharn, ascended to the Ruby Throne as Empress Regent under the guidance of the Necromancer Mannimarco. Ushering a time of increased instability within the Empire of Cyrodiil which finally grew into “The Three Banners War”.

Before the release of 2nd Khajiit companion I'd be inclined to say that we are bound to get two companions of three remaining playable races - so Nord, Orc or Bosmer. Given the 2024 year involved Bosmer a lot it seemed like great time for a Bosmer companion. But we've got Altmer and Khajiit - neither linked to the year. I think it's fair to assume that at least one new companion will be of missing three races. Hopefully both are, but we can't be sure.

I would pay cash money for a build your own companion option. It doesn't need a back story, dialog, or perk. Just let me use the character creator to make one just as if I was making a new toon.

I want them to really open things up for companions in the future. Give us companions that are races we don’t see a lot of but still have at least a few around maybe (like you can justify it lore wise) like: Lilmothiit, Kothringi, Akaviri race, Snow Elf, Maomer, Imga, Dremora. That would be so awesome.

I'd like them to take a break at least for some time and flesh out other game's features more instead, they can't squeeze new companions everywhere forever. Maybe release races which didn't got anything first before for people starving for it. Or even flesh out the feature itself, as there's nothing really to write songs about.

IMO the new Khajiit should have been a Nord, that whole ancient priest thing would have worked so well with their lore. Instead we got Yet One More Khajiit. And why is the new thief chick a DK? That's the class that makes the least sense for a thief.

Whatever, I shouldn't complain too much - as soon as I get my glowing heavy sacks, I'll put the Khajiit away and get out Mirri again. Still not sure if leveling the other one is worth it for better lockpicking.

I think that since we got one repeated race (Khajiit) and one new race (Altmer) who are both in the same alliance (Aldmeri Dominion), we might see this trend continue for future years.

Maybe we get an Orc and another Redguard or Breton one year, and then a Nord and another Dunmer or Argonian the next. Then we can circle around to the Bosmer and another Altmer or Khajiit on the 3rd year.

I'd like at least 20 companions- one for each character. It would be better if we got a diversity. I'd like an orc in particular.

i d prefer "better Companions", rather than "more Companions".
technically eight are already enough (quick and bolstered tanks, quick and soothing healers, DDs: bow, staff, dw, and 2h melee)
    why not to:
    - add more RP options like romancing, make theirs personalities to unfold
    - add more dialogue lines and more complex brunching dialogues with many different options and plots
    - add Companions a little brain not move into and then stand in bosses AoE
or am i asking too much, @ZOS ?
please, seriously improve existing Companions, rather than adding new not much different ones.
Also, please, add them bags (at least for the spare change of Companions' gear). I miss Lydia so bad. She has sworn to carry all my burdens. And She did! Unlike some lazy slackers.. :|

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't understand why some people say that there are already "enough" companions and that this is a reason why ZOS shouldn't add more. I mean, I can also say, "please no more trials, please no more group dungeons, there are already more than enough." I'm not interested in trials in the slightest, but I completely understand if other players like to have something new here every now and then. It's the same with companions. It's not necessarily about having this or that role already filled, it's about a new story, a new partner for RP, etc.

This is exaclty why i am against new Companions. the dear game-makers priority is quantity, not quality.
How many times have you heard "This is a great area for harvesting.", or "Nice hole haul!" ?
    Where are THE stories?
How many times Bastian suggested you some better sets to use? How many times Isobel suggested you better rotation?
Or maybe there is a Companion who can do surveys for you? There is no even CS Assistant for that (i d buy one if they emerges)

ESO is not the only game with Companions. Check SWTOR MMO, or, at the very least Fallout 4.
    There is a difference.

I'd sincerely agree to have more companions, if ESO Companions are made better in the first place.

Some of us want other content getting attention as have exactly zero use cases for current companions. People are paying for ESO plus and expansions and want their money to go into something the have interest in, so voicing opinions is definitely an option here. You surely can have no use cases for pve content for example but that's still meat and bones of the game you like it or not, whilst companions aren't and we don't expect them to add forever, same at tot for example.

Even that aside I'd guess most people would want not more companions, but better companions and the feature to be more fleshed out overall instead. Especially if you're mentioning rp, currently it's insanely underwhelming in that department them being shallow as ordinary Skyrim merc imo.

Have you played SWTOR recently? Almost every class companion is available to every character plus a dozens of new ones. In total you have 90+ companions to chose from, recent story is told with fixed companions for every story bit, outside of story, companions have little to say except combat barks, and mechanics-wise the companions are barely more than reskins for the standardised weapon styles (rifle, dual sabers, etc) The only outstanding companions are the nerfed original cash shop companions, and the OP ones from a cash-shop story bit and a battle pass reward.

This is exactly not the direction ESO should take. But yeah, companions could be more involved in story, or the other way round, why introduce Azandar, when Leramil could be our Arcanist companion?

We have way too many companions already. All the effort put into them feels completely wasted, by the devs as well as by us players.

People say this about every feature they don't like. We're still getting new decks for Tales of Tribute when some players would rather we not. There's still a demographic of players who don't think updates to their favorite features waste developer time.

I wonder what people don't see in Companions. Each one has an entire storyline spanning their introductory quest and 2-3 additional quests. Is PvE content a waste of time? I think Zerith-var's storyline is one of the best in recent years, and I'm saddened that some players don't want any more of those stories.
