I don't like maintenance during events either, but part of the problem is there's basically always an event. And they've gotta give us Update 44. It does happen a lot and feels like maybe different teams scheduling things and not communicating well with each other, or not leaving each other proper windows in which to accomplish their respective tasks. My own opinion is that they should do fewer events but increase the effort put into and quality of them; a side-benefit of which might be more event-free windows in which to do maintenance.

Anyway, for now it is what it is. Cross your fingers and hope for no extended maintenance.

It does always seem like there is maintenance at inconvenient times, but I'm hyped for update 44.

Aight, Update 44 maintenance gets somewhat of a pass then, but still, it seems like they could've done a better job scheduling a huge update to not interfere with a holiday event. It just gets to be a bit annoying when there's a big event coming up, and then it gets disrupted (multiple times I might add) by maintenance which most of the time feels like they could've waited, or done it earlier. That's all. There are a lot of people who play during the hours they take down for maintenance, and some times that means we miss out on an entire day of playing and getting tickets/loot because that's the only time we have to play.

Witches Festival ends on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday likely because of the update maintenance, it's happened in the past too.

and q4 updates have nearly always been during the Witches Festival so it's to be expected

Don't forget the new Grimoire Banner Bearer! The 4 new Skill Styles are also rewards for doing content, which people have been asking for.

This time I am actually glad they do this maintenance during a double exp event, gives me a headstart on leveling the new companions.

The companions are basically the only thing of interest for me in U44.

PS: Normally maintenance doesn't bother me much either, as I usually only do two hours on/two hours off when gaming. (excluding events where I sometimes nolife them)

I suppose that's one advantage to having the yearly batch of Companions delayed to Q4! I don't think Chapter releases ever line up with double XP events.

I saw today being maintenance day about 6 weeks ago when they had maintenance for the first week of PTS. This is normal cadence for the maintenance cycle.

Perhaps ZOS can give free event tickets and plunder skulls to those who couldn't log in through no fault of their own. For those whose prime time play time mainly falls during scheduled maintenance, losing out on a days worth of event tickets and all the associated goodies every single event must get pretty annoying.

Maintenance are a necessity.
They happen during events because events are too damn long, in this game.

If something, it is going to be more of like a casual PvE nerf / nerf for players wanting to avoid PvP, rather than nerf for gankers. I kinda suspect that there will actually more gankers after this update (especially ranged ones) as you will be able to back-bar cloak & have your burst combo ready on your main bar. It was discussed to death & it is now to late.

What I am rather worried about is that it is not a server maintenance or a hot-fix patch. No. It is a full game update in the middle of the event with the worst RNG I have ever seen.

"Don't play on the update's day" is what they say and there is a reason why it is true. I don't consider myself a pessimist, but rather realist, so I fully expect extended maintenance time, gigantic login queue (especially on EU) and maybe even another server down cuz something critical will not work / will be exploited etc.

The events aren't worth grinding for; the 'rewards' are outdated, and most players already have plenty of the blurry furnishings and most, if not all, of the motifs. A couple of hours of downtime, which has been known for months, isn't really going to impact the event when the rewards are all old anyway.

The current event is probably quite exciting for brand new players but for the majority, the rewards are tired and miserable.

Even the 2 new boss fights are dull and unnecessarily time consuming when you can get tickets and gold/purple skulls in a variety of other content in a fraction of the time.

And what is the main purpose of collecting and spending tickets? yep, you guessed it... cosmetics!

Yeah, this game has way too many events so ofc maintenances will interfere with them. Yes it's annoying but let's keep our fingers crossed that it won't become extended until Tuesday...
