Recently, ZOS asked for us to give feedback about the guild system:

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/666764/eso-guild-survey

This reminds me of a post I made years ago:

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/263520/feedback-guild-management-utilities/p1

But in light of the recent buzz about guilds and their utilities I'd like to make a new post i hope the community can expand upon.

So here it is:

Why don' you use the pinned thread from Kevin instead? Yours will fade after a couple days, Kevin's is there to stay and actively asks for any comments on the topic.
I'm but a sarcastic beef jerky. Irony and cynicism are my parents. You've been warned.

This was more for feedback on these ideas as to not clog up the survey thread.

To all of the players SCREECHING about adding more guild slots I have this to say,

Instead of increasing the number of guild slots available to players, a more effective solution would be to enhance the capacity of existing guilds. If guilds are functioning optimally, players should ideally feel satisfied and engaged within a single community.

The current system, as it stands, is flawed. Merely adding more guild slots will not address the underlying issues; rather, it will dilute the player base further, leading to fragmentation and reduced community engagement. By expanding the size and functionality of guilds, we can create a more cohesive and vibrant environment where players feel a stronger sense of belonging.

Enhanced guild functionalities could include improved communication tools, shared resources, and collaborative activities that encourage deeper connections among members. With these enhancements, players would have less incentive to join multiple guilds, fostering greater loyalty to their primary community. Ultimately, this approach would cultivate a more committed and engaged player base, benefiting both the players and the game as a whole.

    Yes this would be helpful.

    9. Guild Timeline and Events
A visual timeline could improve participation in planned events and track past activities.
Currently, this happens in discord. I don't participate because of that.

    14. Guild Hall Enhancements
Expanding customization options for guild halls would promote social interaction.
If this moves the PVP jumping castles and blingfests away from main townships and into private spaces, then so be it.

    ### Guild Progression and Rewards

    1. Guild Ranking System
Introducing a ranking system that rewards active participation would motivate members.
An automated ranking (up and down), based on guild rules would be nice.

These are the only suggestions that I agree with. The others (removed) just reinforce some of the negative things I have with guilds. Most of these suggestions relate to the existing fee/performance based guild operations. The harsh reality is that most players join a guild to sell their stuff and with no expectation of contributing. Myself included.

The only reason that survey came out was to counter this statement from a new competitor: "guild-focused gameplay".
Otherwise, we'd never have seen it.

I would like to see more trading data.

    Examples:

trading volume of an item in that guild
average price of an item in that guild

It might help members understand what to sell and what guild to sell on. I expect different guild stores to have slightly different statistics.

Then don't join guilds. Or better yet, go play a game that doesn't have them. But if game is going to have guilds to build communities in its game, it needs to give the players running those guilds as many information and tools over those communities as possible so they can realize their potential.

    Uh... no.

I'm in 4 guilds. I really like them. I just don't like your ideas. Don't take it personally.
