I've never been in a situation where I felt I needed assistance from the equivalent of a new player (or worse).
I've never been in a situation where a friends companion did anything meaningful.

My priority is new companions *with* additional improvements to the companion system
-Would love it if we could do daily random dungeons with +3 companions.
-Would love having multiple companions out at the same time, anywhere in tamriel.
-Would also love it if companions had dialog between them, example: Mirri: "Ewww, bugs!" - Ember: "Look at her run from that tiny creature. She's so goofy! Haha"
-Would love it if companions added extra dialog options/choices during quests. Example: Like in a quest where we talk to the badguy and Sharp-as-Night is summoned, adding the dialog option: "If you don't listen up, I'll kill you right here and now!" *badguy does not listen* "You were warned! [badguy dies]" (could even tie companion exp, or new companion skills to this feature, like Ember learning magic/a new spell from a mage. Or isobel learning a new melee skill from a fighters guild member. Etc. The possibilities are endless.)
    -Would love companion duels.
-Would love it if some NPC's we encounter would become companions after finishing their quests: Dringoth, Eveli Sharp, Raz, etc.

I've seen ZOS announcing "lowering quantity of content to focus on quality" before... We know the outcome.

I don't care one way or another if we get more companions. If we get more I'll eventually level them on my main as I do what I would do anyway.
I picked other because it seemed an opportunity to again say I want to be able to toggle my companion so that I can choose whether they are free range or have to stay within 12 meters of me. I an tired of companions resetting world bosses as they do a tumbling pass across the zone during every fight. It wouldn't kill them (maybe it would but who cares) if they dodged left or right from time to time instead of always backwards.
Maybe I should have picked additional improvements instead of other but the choice has been made now so..

Companions need their system improved in general. They have too few skills, with extreme limitations, they die too easily (IA aoe damage immunity is a godsend there) and they lack in the damage department.

I understand not giving companions too much damage to not outshadow players, but all their damage skills deal very low damage numbers even in full purple aggressive gear, they are not much of support for players that have very very low dps or are in tanking setups. Maybe instead of raw damage they should just buff player's damage? Azandar is a good example, providing minor and major vulnerability in his kit. But that would require rework of all companion damage abilities.

Tanking setups for companions also need some tweaks. Companions can loose taunts if their skill priority is scuffed and their AI will not block attacks that are meant as light attack but need to be blocked or dodged from time to time (some bosses require this to mitigate dots)

Healing companions are alright, unless they get the aggro and start rolling out of range and reset the fight.

New companion options are great, but I am so tired of doing the same companion questlines on 20 characters.

Please let us simply unlock them once.
You can give us rewards for repeating the questline for a companion on our alts. Make it OPTIONAL somehow.
Doing the same questline every day for 20 days straight is not fun gameplay.

Also, give us the option to NOT show companion quests as available if we have already completed all the achievements for that companion. It is an eyesore to have the quest-available icon hovering over my companions.

I feel like I would like more for the already released companions the most, maybe a way to earn additional passive bonuses, furniture, or cosmetics like mounts or costumes.

I also wish companions could either have class options, or (as might be ZOS's plan) have a companion of each class to choose from. I think I prefer the idea of adding classes to what we already have versus new ones though, as I would like more reasons to interact with them.

Polls like this work better when they are simple, and the answers are to the point of the question. I stuck with a choice that answered the actual question.

I use Bastian for tanking and just level the others up and generally don’t use them again.

I would personally prefer no new companions and no new content for old companions, and the man-hours in the development team schedule diverted towards more zone content for the next chapter.

I know I’m in the minority but that’s okay.

If I could get companions to do simple things, such as "pull that lever" or "stand on that pressure plate" or "lure boss over there" I'd make use of them, but as it stands ATM, they are kinda useless

@M1SHAAN This poll is confusing and not really helpful. There are 3 different questions mashed into it.
    Do you use conpanions?
    New or Old Companions?
    Improve Comp System?
It would've been more prudent to ask these questions in 2 or 3 seperate polls, since the question: "Do you use companions?" has also been asked frequently in other posts. So there is redundancy, too.

Personally, I'd prefer improvements to the existing system before I spend money on any new content.

I also think that the old companions stories are told. There are no loose ends. And any new content would've to be a completly new storyline. And that might be more difficult than you imagine.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

I would rather have companions that actually use the game mechanics. When a boss in the infinite archive corners them on the edge, they should block rather than getting blasted off the map or rotate. If a companion is going to play like an and act like a bot, if companionship cannot revive you, then they should not count as a two player score.

MMO does not mean grouping. It only means that multiple players are in the game world at the same time. Players are free to play how they prefer in this world and for many that is solo play.

I would like to be able to unlock the companions I have without having to endlessly repeat the quest. That quest problem is the main reason I don't have all companions unlocked on all characters. Why on earth would I want more things that I will endlessly have repeat content to use?

Fewer Companions does not mean more content added elsewhere in the game.
