Maintenance for the week of March 3:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – March 3
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – March 4, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EST (21:00 UTC)
• NA megaservers for maintenance – March 5, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 11:00AM EST (16:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – March 5, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 16:00 UTC (11:00AM EST)

LOL really no countdown to shutting servers off? Poor customer service @ESO

Haha I've never seen an MMO do that... Not even a 10 min warning, or 5 minutes just zap off, mid boss.
  • seangcxqb14_ESO
Yeah, they need to fix this. Say, one hour warning, then 30 minutes, then 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and countdown in seconds from one minute. That was way too abrupt.

Also, one of them on the NA server had a literal line break "\r\n" at the end. Really sloppy.

Well, they did give 10 mins time, if you looked at the clock and if you remember it said, scheduled, you would know that it would be at the top of the next hour. They did it again 5 mins and again at 2 mins before the hour.

The notification just said see you in 3-4 hours with an ambiguous shut down time. Not all servers maintenances happen on the hour. I know the last one didn't.

The last one was an emergency maintenance, this one is scheduled, totally different.

Either way my last MMO's scheduled maintenance was at 3:45pm to 5pm. If they don't give the shutdown time in game it's rude, that's not debatable. Old or new players should know while playing when it will go off.

True, they should have a timer in the game, maybe it just slipped their mind, I have faith that it'll be added.

    Scheduled?
I cant remember ever seeing any mention of this anywhere.
I was playing when suddenly BAM! comes a message saying the server is taken down to prep for launch.
No mention whatsoever about how long until they take it down.

And why the hell do they need to take the server down for to prep for launch anyway?
I have played MMOs for the past decade and participated in many early access for various games, but never seen them take the serves down to "prepare for launch" as they did here.

I frankly makes me wonder if the early access was in reality an extended beta.

It would be nice to have a countdown clock to sever disconnect. Most MMORPG games do. It helps us to complete a few things and get to a place of safety to log.
  • Msgreenleaf
The announcement gave no indication about when servers would be taken down (like 5min, etc) and there was no notification in the launcher or at the log in screen of the game. Am I supposed to go check the forums or their social media accounts every time I log in to the game to know whether or not their will be maintenance and when? That's ridiculous.
  • domlynchb16_ESO
i haven't read the rest of the 8 pages. so this may have been stated already..

this is nothing to do with 'preparing the servers for launch'.. as so many people bought the imperial edition/early access..there isn't going to be a huge spike in subscriber numbers on the 4/4/14.

it is just an excuse because they messed something up and are trying to fix the mail bug.. or the issue yesterday where the US server was down.. which they havent really fixed yet.. they are trying to mask that behind 'we are preparing for launch..'
  • EmperorBungholio
can I be the 1 millionth to say it?
I WAS PISSED!!!! no warning, i got the first message - then asked my zone how long til it shut down. No response to that, no surprise there. 5 mins later i was booted

Yes well, I assume they are fixing some stuff they didn't mention because if anyone noticed some zones on map were doing non stop throw backs. (every 15 minutes, thrown back 5+ - especially in Shadowfen. Also, lorebooks were sinking into ground so you saw the glow but no book. I mean there was lots of stuff going on so maintenance was imminent.

it just a bit of teething trouble. so early access turned out to be a bit of a paid beta, no biggy. chillax and enjoy. Not a single mmo has launched without significant issues and I think the servers at 5day open was probably the smoothest I have ever seen in any
We've both said a lot of things you're going to regret

Thanks for the inaccurate information. Let me correct your mistake with some actual information from Zenimax.

Maintenance is scheduled for Wed and Sunday. Today is Thursday. Just fyi.

    To quote:
"The Elder Scrolls Online undergoes regular maintenance to provide you with the best service possible. We have scheduled the following windows for this purpose, although we may not need to use them every week:

    North American Megaserver

    Wednesdays at 13:00 BST (8:00 a.m. EDT)

    Sundays at 11:00 BST (6:00 a.m. EDT)

    European Megaserver

Tuesdays at 13:00 BST (14:00 CEST)

Sundays at 09:00 BST (10:00 CEST)

Most maintenance periods will last for no more than a few hours. During these times, we’ll deploy patches, server optimizations, database updates, hardware upgrades, and perform other routines that keep ESO running smoothly."

Keep track of maintenance on the website. They shouldn't have to do everything for you. Now there are some that are emergencies or unscheduled but they can't really help that.

Not only was there a post on the official website, there was also in-game "The server will go down in 10 minutes... in 5 minutes..."

    Have a nice day!

Who revived a dead thread and baited us?

CausticSky was the most recent post after April 3. Santiago's post right before his was April 3.

On the EU server, they always give warning down to 1 minute. Was it just this downtime or all that you don't see the countdown?

Edit: I've just noticed this post was from April the 3rd. Why was it revived :)
