Playing on EU and NA servers

How can I play on both zones without having to re download the game for EU ? I made another directory with the EU on the end and copied another set of the game files into it and it still wants to do a full game download :(

    I have this same thing. I just gave up. apparently they want you to download everything every time you change or buy a new copy. I'm stuck on NA... EU has my WoW guildies and I would like to play there during the daytime EU... but apparently no can do...

    Your characters don't transfer across either.

    Am I missing something here? I am able to play on either server (not the same character) without difficulty.

    I don't think so, it's just that unlike some games where there's a common client for all regions .. FFXIV is like that .. this one has separate clients for the NA and EU servers and each is the full 20gb+ installation.

    This seems to be what Xaryen wasn't prepared to do.

    No. That's exactly what I wanted to do. BUT it does not work. I get one installation the end. It deletes the other one. SO if I have say NA installed in one path folder and then install EU on another. I start install and BOOM it Deleted my NA game folder completely. SO I had to re-install NA server version. Did this 6 times. Then just gave up. If I want to play EU during maintenance time... I have to wait 2 out of the maintenance hours to be able to play and then again if I want to go back to NA... I just don't want to bother with the hassle. It's just F*UP that I need to re-install everything over and over and over again... no thanks.

    I have both "versions" installed.

    Anyway, I thought the game client took care of everything. Select NA server and it is downloaded / updated. Switch to EU server and the same happens. I did not have to install 2 versions myself.

    The laucher "updates" the game client sure. takes about an hour or so to do... Everytime. Say there's an NA maintenance for 4 hours and I want to play on EU for that time... update 1 hour play for maybe 2 or less hours and then update back to NA for 1 hour... worth the hassle all the time I want to change to play with different friends... No...

    Seems like that is all your ISP for download speeds. If you download NA then switch to download EU it makes 2 different game dirrectories. Reason for it is because they push patches to each server on different days. So if you play on EU while NA is down then go back to NA it may just be downloading the patch. I have both downloaded and have 0 problems.

    Just remember that the servers don't get patches on same day for the most part.

    DO NOT MAKE THE EU DIRECTORY YOURSELF reason is you cant simply just copy paste files from NA into EU because the files are different. Not to mention the launcher will look for the eu.exe in a certain file path that the launcher creates.

    The files are not the same because patches aren't pushed to the servers at same time. For instance this last patch was pushed to NA server a day before the EU server. You couldn't just copy paste over to the EU version and have the new patch because it wasn't implemented on the EU server yet.

    Yeah I made the mistake of trying to install the EU client side by side with the NA client by using a freshly downloaded installer. The CORRECT method, I discovered, is to use the Launcher and switch to the EU Mega Server in settings and then switch back and forth via settings to play either NA or EU. They won't both show up on the launcher main screen at the same time.

    Downloaded the original Client for NA. Switched tab on the launcher to EU, installed a small patch and ready to play on either server. It installed the seperate folders automatically, no need to create folders yourself. I had zero problems and did not have to download two separate games
