If I had just one thing to change ...

I like TESO. This is not a flame or hate thread. Just getting that out in the open now.

But one thing I wish was different is the linear feel to the game. In the four days I've played, I've tried to imagine how it could be different. The implementation of a leveling system would be nice, but what could it target? Not the player, of course. So all that's left is the zone.

When the phasing system was announced, I imagined I would only be in zones populated within my level range. And I thought this would apply to the entire map. So as I leveled up, I would enter a different "zone." The only way to enter a higher zone would be with a group and having a group member with that zone's level. Applied to all parts of the map, this would enable players to go everywhere without getting smacked down by a level 20 enemy.

Something like this would disperse the crowds throughout the world and make it less crowded.
"Funny that magic doesn't work when a mace caves in your skull."

Playing on a PC, NA Server, since that very first day ...

"Make it less crowded?" The point of an MMO is to play with other people. Level zone restrictions would be terrible. It'd take away all freedom of exploration, to boot. Sorry, man, but that sounds like a different game you're wanting.
You may say I'm a Dreamer but I'm not the only one.

If i could change just one thing, it would be adding one or two more skills to the action bar, 5 just isn't enough for me.
