I want something different than the usual player classes. Like maybe the companions can have background skills beyond them like a pirate or a mad alchemist/scientist who tosses bottles of corrosive & flammable compounds.
Just repeating the classes over and over seems boring

Repeat with different gender, and mix other races inbetween. I'd love a Maormer companion.

I think that ZOS is out of new ideas, so anything they roll out will be ideas because they need something for a companion, not an idea that forms the need for a companion.

Will be in store, but you can claim them for free if you have ESO+ (probably the same setting as with some other items that have a different price depending on whether the player has ESO+ or not).

No, they still have their quests. Their quest only shows up in game if you have claimed them in the store, though.
