Rework potion and food WHEN?

I hope never... I've just bought thousands of ingredients for the 3 recipes I use and I don't want to see my play style broken by what I fear would be a monumental rework, and not just a little touch here and there...

I'm egoistic in this, I know, but I like how it works now and changes scare me, especially in ESO 😅

They've (the devs) started talking about this in January of this year, but every update it seems it gets postponed to the next.

potions and food hybridisation could happen in any future update that's why i chose the "1 year from now" poll option.
i don't think it's guaranteed but likely less than 5 or 10 years

I hope it happens soon-ish and I also hope they extend the bonuses to our companions; they need some buffs too after all!

That or give us a few extra (even if just a handful) recipes specifically for companions and add a food slot to their skill page somewhere or something so they auto eat when needed.

They wouldn't need to make too many, just 1 or 2 per role. Example extra damage for DD's, extra HP for tanks, extra healing or duration of buffs for Healers etc. Simple things like that.

If they ever get around to it, they might as well rework crafting as a whole and reduce some of the redundant mats.

They will have to finish it. I think they want to. But they underestimated the amount of work it takes.

The problem is that they not only need to make up their minds on how they want to change that part of crafting.
They also need to adjust all levels of all recipes to the changes. Foods, Drinks and Potions.
If they were to streamline the effects, i.e. combine Magicka and Stamina versions of effects, we'd all have redundant ingredients. They'd need to be removed or repurposed.
Or, they get rid of scaling of all levelled food drinks and potions. And that, in turn would have hard implications for all combat scaling.

I wouldn't want to be the guy responsible to jump down that particular rabbit hole. 🐇
