I did a bit of research and got some feedback from players parsing on PTS and in Gold Road and the DPS numbers are as follows:
Stamplar = 138-139k dps, Stamsorc = 148k dps, Magsorc = 144k. Warden and Arcanist are 140k around.
Now Necromancers even with experienced players seem to be around the 134k mark dps wise.
The buffs are nice but not enough, people are crying now in PvP about how this helps the Necromancer in PvE a tiny bit but not in PvP.
What is a Necromancer in the fantasy world and know for? Answer: Raising the dead so a true Necromancer should have reliable good pets alongside him. Now adding a new skill is overall very development intensive and I get it but I have a very simple and less invasive solution that can fix the Necromancer a lot and add to the overall fantasy feeling and RP perspective of the Necromancer.
A Necromancer should be pet focused by making their only long lasting combat pet, the skeleton archer, mage a core skill that does good dmg. Blasting Bones does good dmg but it won't help if the skeleton pet is still weak.
Meta PvE builds run the skeleton in the current update anyway but in the PvP environment the skeleton minion does not enough dmg to be worth using. It needs a 20% dmg buff at least to become relevant in PvP. It is like a decent dot then.
Now let me show you something funny about the Skeleton archer that was used in this (the highest I could find) Necromancer DPS parse:
The Skeleton archer does not even appear in the skill dps rankings here. It is such a weak dmg output that the addon does not even show it every skill deals significantly more damage.
A Necromancer is supposed to be a minion class in every single fantasy game that ever existed. Diablo Necromancers always had pets, the Unholy Death Knight in WoW (basically a stamina Necromancer) uses pets as a big source of damage and many more games have their Necromancers function this way. This is the Necromancer class fantasy in all fantasy worlds. A Skyrim Necromancer would also mostly use his Necromancy for dmg alongside destruction spells.
So how about we slap a 20% dmg buff to the Skeleton mage/archer on top and call it a day? This is a less invasive and complex buff that will bring the numbers up on DPS parses to be closer to other classes and help the class fantasy.
I hope this helps and a developer at ZOS can read this.
