✭✭✭✭✭Yes indeed, they claimed that the change was in order to accommodate new features in the database - and then wouldn't discuss it any further while they added ToT.
My point is that I'd rather they kept the core systems in the game as they are rather than change them without any discussion in order to accommodate new features that already exist outside of the game for those who want them.
From my perspective, they have to find a solution for the database space problem longterm, because with every release, it will become more content naturally, and they can't just remove other things for that all the time. So they should focus on that. Urgently.
That said, ZOS has made clear in their latest interview just a few weeks ago that they see ESO as a "TES world" where you can lead a virtual life. They have emphasized that they care for aspects that have nothing to do with fighting or questing as much as for the other aspects of the game. So, yes, introducing more mini games would totally be something that fits that description. No matter what I personally think of that.
