Hello hello! I know this has been asked many times before (I did my research) but I'm a returning player and I have no idea of what is updated and agreed by most people..
Is there a consensus about the drop rates of some items when Deconstructing/ Refining? I know it's RNG but even with that.. the avarage number still exists..
*Assuming you have all passives and cps!
My question is about these specific rates:
Gold materials rate when refining
Style materials when deconstructing
... but if there's anyone who knows other rates it would be also helpful
Purple/ Blue/ Green materials when refining
Other materials when deconstructing
Perfect Roe when filleting
... can't think of any other... ty o7

Oh wow! so much info lol!.. TY! .. didn't see anything about style mats tho.. which is weird considering how much stuff that shows.. everything else is perfect..
Edit: what I wanna get from this is to have some insight of how much should I pay for let's say a stack of raw fish to fillet... or the raw mats.. will that profit be enough to the search be worthy.. with this economy everything is weird so.. xD

Filleting fish does not use the same stats as refining mats. There are no extraction passives for it, and the devs have stated that Meticulous Disassembly does not work.
Style mats also never come from refining, only from deconning items in a style.
Note that this is relevant in new content as style materials there can often be valuable as used in furniture.Dagoth_Rac wrote: »Based on literally millions of refined raw materials, gold upgrade materials are 1 for every 200 raw materials refined with all passives in that craft. That link is of a player's records and doesn't appear to be official ZOS data.
That link was posted 5 years, or around 20 patches ago.
Let me know if I misread the post.I know it's RNG but even with that.. the avarage number still exists..
Really?
Where is that discussed?
The link was posted years ago, but the spreadsheet has been updated since, which is clear from the text in the document. For example, Meticulous Disassembly didn't exist five years ago, but there are comments and data for pre- and post-MD.
ZOS does not provide drop chance data for almost anything, so we have to test things ourselves. If you personally don't want to accept data sourced from the game by players, that's fine, but it doesn't invalidate that data for the rest of us.

Hi all, wanted to provide some additional context to the filleting fish addition. The team wanted to clear up any confusion. The Meticulous Disassembly champion star does not improve your chances of getting perfect roe when filleting a fish.
Meticulous Disassembly never affected fish filleting and the Perfect Roe drop rate and therefore is not broken 🙂

Thank you for finding the quote. Searching on a phone is horrible.
It does not require a discussion.. it is how things work.. "if you have 1000 numbered balls the chances of getting the number 43 is 1/1000... " and you can't set a random number ranging from 0 to infinity... (I think lol)

So he was confirming that that move would not bring filleting under the umbrella of deconstruction. 🙂

Unless there is no ball numbered "43"
Unless there are 3 balls numbered as "43".
Unless the 1000 numbered balls are unique and ranged from 10000-11000.
You have an automatic assumption of "how things work".
Some players will tell you that the 'best results' are obtained when processing mats in numbers greater than 1000, preferably closer to 10000. So, in theory, the average may only applied when other criteria are met e.g. the volume being processed.
"if you have 1000 numbered balls the chances of getting the number 43 is 1/1000... "
Yes, the thread is old. The data I have gathered is updated regularly.
Writ rewards are each patch.
Refining data used is only from since Meticulous Disassembly was introduced, even though the spreadsheet contains "old" data from before Meticulous Disassembly... and even before multicraft was a thing, those are not used in the current calculation of refining rates.
I have not done style materials from deconstruction. Too difficult to track reliably, and I don't do enough of it (other than intricates) to get relevant data.
ZoS has never released the "actual" drop rates/refining rates, and I don't think they ever will. What I do is provide a statistically relevant amount of data and run some standard statistical tests against hypotheses to try and determine a "best" estimate.
(Note: With the amount of data collected, the possible error in the "best" estimates of rates are exceedingly small... much smaller than almost any "statistical data" you see reported on the news, such as polling.)
Edit: I also try and estimate a "price" for which to buy materials and stuff at... however, I can only base that on 1 server (PC/NA), and I'm not great about keeping the prices updated, especially right now as they are changing rapidly.

Oh it makes sense you wouldn't have anything on style mats then.. it would require a huge amount of work getting all items.. inventory/bank space etc to get such a small sample..
... if Zos released the rates ppl would start complaining (I mean more) regardless of the number
Is it ok to share it with my guildies?
