Why not give as special additional reward for our companion to hit level 20 to be able to wear a helmet when using the customized armory of our companion?

This feature could be unlocked when the companion reaches level 20 so there is ample time to appreciate the character model of that companion but allows players to fit a head protection to their companion later if they wish (they should be able as well keep it toggled off).

I think that's a decent compromise between letting the identity of the character be showcased and allowing players to customize their Companions further. If Level 20 is too easy of a goal to reach, then maybe this feature could be enabled at high positive rapport instead?

PC/NA — Lone Werewolf, the Templar Khajiit Werewolf

Werewolf Should be Allowed to Sneak
Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

The developers did not allow helmets for companions as they wanted everyone to be able to see their creations (as posted when companions came out).

This has been asked for from a RP perspective or just not everyone looking like a clone (especically when there were only two companions). With a mask or a hood on we could be travelling with our friend from the mage's guild, using a polymporh (cadaver assassin) necromancers could have a "pet" out all the time, simple helmet and alliance outfit our friend from the front lines is helping put down the threats in the land in the name of <faction leader>.

I've only maxed out the level of half of the companions so far, and I play a lot. High rapport is way easier in my opinion, haha.

Ironically, I'd be most likely to use this on characters who have low rapport with certain companions. Bastian is traveling with my main sorcerer; if I have him out with someone else, I may want to put a hat on him and pretend he's a different person.
