    Hello OP,

one of the fastest and most stress free ways to level up your AR skill line is playing in the early afternoon on weekends when keeps still flip back and forth as this produces a lot of ticks. Enable your zone chat and look/ask for directions or join an LFG group to see which objective is next.

when the keep is attacked, look to flip the resources around it as well - either during or after the keep siege. Try to make it to the keep in time for the "tick". You enlist for ticks by earning AP in the vicinity - even by repariing a keep wall quickly. Like when you come late to a keep that is about to flip, quickly use some stones on a 70% wall and you'll get the tick for the keep.

If you really don't know what to do, equip a resto staff with healing springs and radiating regeneration and just heal everybody on your screen. Don't try to go out on your own, always follow people around.

when your keep is sieged, stay on the walls until there is a push. keep your people alive, heal the counter siegers, heal especially those people attacking the enemy on the ground as well. You then generate def ticks which can easily go up to 20-30k AP.

Maxing alliance war skill line will be done in one, max two afternoons of spamming two buttons and passively taking part in combat by healing others.

It is just so impossible to prevail in PvP. Now if I meet an enemy player I just wait for quick death. No use to press any bottons.

Battlegrounds matchmaker MMR ensures your first few matches should be against characters of the same experience as yourself. Under 50s Cyro allows you to rank up somewhat when you're nowhere near endgame. Level 6 isn't hard to achieve without PvPing at all by doing the intro quest then either repairing walls or doing some town quests in Cyro.

I get 64 AP for one repair kit that costs 250 AP. Of course I also could spend cold. For 1024 AP I need to spend 16 repair kits but I can only buy 4 repair kits in turn for the gained AP. That is a pretty slow grind.

This alliance war skill line leveling grind is multiple times worse than leveling warrior guilde skill line. :(

There are ways to make this better. Put CP into healing, wear healing sets, 2 seperate monster pieces that both give 4% extra healing , carry a Resto staff. All these things increase how much repairing and therefore AP you get per kit. Obviously not ideal to switch if you're also fighting, but worth doing if you're just going in to repair all the keeps

Thanks! Will see what I can do here.

This is true for me too, especially since I haven't PvPd in two years. But I learned not to mind dying. It's very liberating. You eventually get the hang of it.

If you don't need to level your alliance rank right now, you can look for good situations on empty campaigns whenever you have nothing else to do. After you did the introduction quest of course.

Just go there for a minute and see if one of the two underdog bonuses is active. If you are lucky both can be active at the same time. You will get +100% alliance points for the low population, and another 100% for low scoring. If your alliance also owns all the keeps you will get up to 15% and another 24% for owning the edge keeps (brindle, drake and dragon). 20% for one hour after killing a delve boss in Cyrodiil. Another 50% from colovian war torte (i would not use the expensive 100 and 150% ones unless you are extremely rich). Up to 15% from mora's whispers mythic. And 100% from the pvp event.

You probably will never be able to get all the bonuses at the same time, but you don't need all of them.

    And then start repairing.

You can improve the efficiency of your repairs by buffing your healing done. Equip one of your powered 2 hand weapons for up to 9% increased healing effectiveness and have the weapon on your bar when you repair. Use the ritual mundus stone for another 13% increased healing effectiveness. Put on some set pieces like earthgore or symphony of blades for the 4% healing done. I am pretty sure some champion points work too.

Your repairs will be more efficient, so you will get more ap for every time you repair, and combined with some of the ap buffs you will get more ap back than you spent for buying your repair kits.

Might sound a bit complicated at first and I might have screwed up some numbers and bonuses, but I think this is a good way to get your skills without doing pvp at all. Without ruining a bg for others, or not helping in keep fights...

Additionally you can get 50 transmute crystals per char every month, if you repair some walls on your home campaign until you earned 25000 alliance points and reach tier 1 for the end of campaign rewards. You get the boxes in your mail and can store them on a char you never play, for later.

If you are lucky, others will fight and die for the keeps you are repairing, and you will get extra ap for defending, without ever having to fight. If you know your allies will win the fight and defend the keep, you can just let some enemies kill you so everyone gets more ap for the defense, and it will make everyone happy. I am not 100% sure about all of this but somehow I think it's true.

To be honest, you should just fight and enjoy yourself. It can be very entertaining.

Thank you for your constructive reply. Very appreciated.

If you use some siege to defend you will increase your AP gained for each player you kill. Pour some oil over the front door or on the stairs, or hit siege and players with meatbags.

I used to die all the time, and never be able to kill anyone… until I got better. Still not sure how it is my builds work now but I believe in you! I thought I hated PvP but it becomes way more fun when you have a build that works well enough.

without fresh meat leveling alliance skills, PvP would be really, really dead.

the old whales who are still playing PvP need new prey every once in a while.
