Dungeon Speedrunners negative impact and remedies

The solution is to use group finder or your guilds.

The dungeon finder is meant for fast transmute runs.

The needed change is the base game should inform players of this. Even a small text tooltip explaining group finder is where to go if you want slower placed dungeon runs would be great.

Put better rewards in the Random Veteran Dungeons and that will get most of those high level rushers out of the Random Normal Dungeons.

Be careful of what you ask for. Because there's a solid argument that it'd be better to reduce the Transmute payout of Random Normal than to increase Random Vet. And if Zos were ever inclined to ensure a difference in payout, it'd likely not be the outcome you'd hope for.

I wouldn't want to take anything away from people. I just want to see more given to those people who deserve it.

The problem is the Random Normal Dungeon gives the same rewards as a Random Veteran Dungeon. Same XP and Transmute Crystals. So of course people are gonna do Normal instead of Veteran because it's faster and easier.

Put better rewards in the Random Veteran Dungeons and that will get most of those high level rushers out of the Random Normal Dungeons.

Putting better rewards in RVDs might also incentivize players to queue who might not be ready for harder content yet or who are actively looking for a carry. I think all it will achieve is more complaints on the forums about fake supports and/or low DPS and even fewer people doing PUGs.

There are already plenty of people that queue for RVD that probably shouldn't be there. These people are there because "I want X/Y/Z, and don't care if I'm wasting other people's time"... So if we already have to deal with that type of person in RVD then there's no harm in increasing RVD rewards for the people that deserve it.

Just ran Fang Lair on normal with my new toon (tank). Picked up quest (shared by some guy) and then the two other guys just rushed thru it. Me as tank running behind trying to catch up. Not possible to do the quest at all. Of course not learning how to tank it either.

This is SO BAD for the game and the community.

Of course I understand that the majority of people just run this for doing the dailies etc. and want to get it finished. Is ok, as long as it does NOT negatively impact others.

I wonder if there could be a remedy to this for those who want to slowrun it without the need to ask guildies.

Could we have an option to tick where we explicitely ask for a slowrun? Maybe even enforcing a slowrun with blockages imposed after each fight section? Such as all four players have to be present at the gate to open it. For boss fights maybe have some damage taken by boss reduced so he does not die so fast? Maybe there are other ideas. As it is now it is such a nuisance if you want to play and learn a dungeon and others just run thru it.

I had the exact same issue. I wanted to do the quests for the DLC dungeons but I knew if I tried with a random group they would probably rush ahead. my advice is this. get a friendly player. like from a guild or your friend list. someone you know who you can actually talk to. 1 is perfectly sufficient if he's properly equipped. honestly, you could likely solo all the DLC dungeons on normal if it wasn't for mechanics that require you interact with something simultaneously.
I've been doing this with a buddy of mine every Saturday for the last couple months and it's been a blast. this might be your best option here. you really can't rely on randos.

I just vote kick people who don't play nice. Usually the rest of the group notices the unwanted behavior and agrees to the kick.

Tbh it always makes me smile when I actually get kicked (only happened a very few times in years), because 99% of time this is only a sanction for the group, since the guy you kicked will be able to immediatly queue again and find another PUG. I would even say that I prefer being kicked if I see the group takes its time to do the dungeon. And if you kick a guy that was fake queuing or rushing, then you'll probably lose a significant part of group dps, and then take much more time to pass the dungeon.

I personally systematically refuse to vote to kick somebody if the person doesn't compromise the group progression. I don't care if the person rushes/takes its time/speakes too much in chat/queues as fake heal/tank in normal/etc.

Of course I can understand the vote to kick if a dude queue as fake tank in vet DLC dungeons. But for normal ones I really don't care. You could be a crappy DD with 1,5k DPS I would not vote to kick (except if the global DPS is really, really bad and can't make us pass it).
