I just logged in to see a bunch of my characters with "reserved" names, now all flagged for rename. While some of them MAY have been questionable, one was simply unnecessary to change.
Art Vandelay. i was using him as a temporary mule. How on earth is this name unacceptable? ZOS please respond. I was really fond of that name.

Art Vandalay from Sienfeld. Still seems a fine name that should be allowed.
But I'm more than happy for ZMO to block stupid, juvenile names en-masse though.

That's the reason why my OC's names are registered and protected trademarks. If someone would have picked or reserved their names I would have enforced a rename on them myself.

If it is a legit mistake and not something like "*** Wasn't Too Bad I Guess" or something like that (Name I saw in-game a few days ago) I could see them reversing it. I can definitely see the Dark Brotherhood Assassin being a problem but I think support has bigger fish to fry than explain why a name is naughty or not. I don't see a problem with the Vandalay one but perhaps I'm not seeing something they are.
If it really is a Seinfeld reference then I bet you're out of luck.0 -

✭✭✭✭There were rules posted somewhere (not sure where originally, saw a copied list on Reddit or else I wouldn't know about this) that state you can't use names from fiction/non-fiction, even if it's in the public domain. I think it's stupid really; one of the rules also said anything deemed offensive by ZOS is grounds for forcing a name change. Which means literally no one is safe.
