The Undaunted- What am I not getting?

I cannot figure out how to level up the Undaunted Guild. It says to do achievements and dungeon quests.

I appear to get 10 exp when I complete a group instance for the first time, right now I have done 5 and got to level 2, but, it is another 100 exp until I get to level 3. That is 10 more instances, meaning 3 more tiers. That can't be it! There aren't enough instanced dungeons in the game to max it out.

I have hit J and gone to achievements and completed a couple of achievements in dungeons-> public dungeons, but got no experience for the undaunted.

Anyone have any insight?

To level the undaunted you must do the instanced dungeons/achievements/quests, The first few being spindleclutch, fungal grotto, and I forget the other...maybe banished cells?

Public Dungeons do not count when it comes to the undaunted. They prefer the instanced variety, which are typically more difficult.

Right, but, at 10 exp per dungeon and 3 dungeons per tier, it doesn't seem like there are enough dungeons to max it. even to get to level 3 is 15 dungeons. How could you possibly get to level 5 with only instanced dungeons?

Quoted for truth, have to put the time in to level your skill lines, some are easier than others.

I understand that. What I am trying to figure out is HOW to level it. Even long term.
Simple math tells me there is not enough group instanced dungeons in the game, so there must be something other than just instanced group dungeons that give exp.

Oh! Wait! I forgot about Veteran dungeons! Maybe that's how it has to be done, on your second and 3rd pass through the game on the veteran difficulties!

So, just out of curiosity, does slotting a skill from the line level it too?

I've not started this line yet. So going from the comments in this conversation, do you only get Undaunted XP the FIRST time you run through one of the required dungeons? You can't run them over and over again to level it?

I hit Undaunted 2 after I cleared the 2nd round of 4man dungeons @ lvl 20. If that helps ya.

Yes, you only get exp on the first round in the dungeon and slotting a skill gives you exp in that skill, but not in the skill line.

@Daverios I did as well, however the first level only takes 50exp, each dungeon is worth 10. Next level takes 100 exp, and so on.

But, I forgot about veteran mode, that must be how you get to max level.

The main thing that ticks me off, is the taunt is level 3. I will NOT tank with a sword and shield when the only thing that is desirable on it for me is the taunt. I cant believe they'd pigeon hole people into doing that. I have all the tanking tools I need in sorcerer except a taunt.

What if youre like lvl 30 allready and you want compleet the spindle Dungeon for lvling undaunted?

It sounds more like you're pigeon holing yourself. Use 1h/Sh until you unlock the other taunt. Then respec and remove the 1 point if you want.

Ways to level undaunted.

1. finish group public dungeon.
2. Finish group public dungeon quests.
3. earn achievements in group public dungeons.

You need to be doing all 3 to level undaunted.

So I'm VR3, I finished banished cells along with the quest and got 10xp for undaunted... I am currently 120/150 towards level4 (of undaunted) It seems that there will not be enough dungeons to finish the skill line, UNLESS public group area dungeons also count. Can someone confirm that?

Actually only the group dungeon and veteran dungeon achievements count for undaunted xp.
Check your achievements tab and you will see them listed.
For normal dungeons,you just have to kill the bosses mentioned in each achievement once,pretty much all along the way to finish them,but sometimes you also have to kill some optional bosses.
For veteran dungeons,there many different achievements,besides killing bosses,like speed completions,killing x number of enemies in a dungeon etc.
In order to reach rank 5,you must complete and repeat the veteran ones a number of times.

Undaunted xp does NOT come from public dungeons AT ALL. Please quit spreading misinformation.

Repeating veteran dungeons gives xp. Non veteran xp only from the quest found inside each dungeon.

It helps if you and your groupmates sing the Undaunted song while completing the dungeons. It's not a tremendous boost, but it does grant slightly more xp than completing the dungeons quietly.

I am veteran rank 10 and I have completed all normal difficulity and veteran difficulity dungeons and i can confirm that rank 4 with 20/200 exp is the highest you can possibly get at this moment

I don't know how the Undaunted rep works either. I did my first Vet Dungeon last night, Banished Cells, and when I completed it....all I got was 10 Undaunted Rep.

Yes I did the quest, killed all the bosses, and got my skill point at the end.

10 points? Really?

That doesn't work I tested it, did public dungeon with all bosses killed and the skill point and the achievement. It did not give any rep with undaunted.

So far the only way to advance is to do group-dungeon achievements like speed or others. Normal run gives 10 points either on normal or Vet.

The first thing I noticed about the skill line is that every one of those skills has a thematic association with a daedric prince. This doesn't necessarily mean that they're daedric cultists though (especially with that odd mix); it's more likely a result of sort of things you'd find (and learn) in the places they tend to go plundering (especially if you take their "no fear of daedric planes" line into consideration).

At least the Vet dungeons each have an Undanted achievment. For example the Vet Banished Cells is to finish the last boss without anyone in your group curing the curse. After an hour spent trying to get this done and finally achieving it the system still didn't give me credit for the achievment anyway. Put in a ticket and it was ignored. I'm figuring it might not even be worth trying to do the achievments until they either fix the system or at least acknowledge the tickets when you don't get it. I seriuosly doubt I am going to get people to try to do that again without any garuntee it will work.

Could have swore I was getting undaunted xp killing stuff in one of the quest line solo dungeons? Unless my xp tracker addon is buggy (quite possible...) it showed me getting undaunted xp for killing mobs on my way to the quest boss.
Actually I just hit 3 at level 40 so maybe not, great now I need to test it on an alt lol
