Been having this happen all night tonight and once before a couple days ago. I'll be in-world but NPCs will cease generating and I'll be unable to crouch, draw weapon, open containers or talk to NPCs already there and the chat feed stops updating even when I send a message.

Not sure what this is but it's making it rather difficult to play. Anyone have any solutions or is this just an issue with the state of the servers at the moment?

That sounds like the symptoms of "Unknown Error"

It looks like they have been working on it, but might be still causing problems.
Try cycling your router, stop all downloads.
And if it happens again after that then it's the client to server connection and or just the ESO servers.

    Hi @Aulakauss ,

It sounds like this is a connection issue, since you're not getting a response back from our servers that would allow actions, NPCs, and chat to update properly. There may be something on your machine either interfering or blocking the connection with the ESO servers.

First, make sure you have the correct ports forwarded through your router.
    • TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
    • TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507

Next, make sure the ESO is added as an exception through any firewalls and anti-virus running on your machine. ESO should also be added as an exception in the Windows Firewall.

Please let us know if making these changes helps things get moving in game.

Thanks. I forwarded both of those port ranges and added an exception in Firewall.

Instead of starting a new topic, figured I'd add onto this one. Is there a solution for the cursor in the menus skipping around so badly that you can barely line it up with anything? Even when the game itself runs fine, the cursor in the login and character select screen is sometimes so bad I can't align it to actually play.

EDIT: I'm now having the inverse issue as well after the port forwarding; the cursor in-game (including in menus) is losing its mind. I keep running into rocks and walls and it makes melee combat nearly impossible unless I'm fighting things far below my level.

It's important that I point out that the game itself doesn't appear to be lagging. The animations play properly and don't hitch, things happen immediately when I hit the keys for them, it's just that the cursor has gone and made friends with Sheogorath.

The issue with the mouse cursor could be just a setting in Windows that will enhance the precision. You want to go into Control Panel>Hardware&Sound>Mouse>Pointer Options, then DESELECT the box labeled "Enhance Pointer Precision." This should make the cursor less precise, which should keep it from going all over the place.
