Did I make a big mistake being a Werewolf as a Magblade?

It depends. Werewolf gets a boost to Maximum Stamina, so if you wanted to min-max for damage, then you'd be better off running Werewolf on a Stamina character.

Keep in mind that due to hybridization, offensive stats scale off the higher of your Magicka or Stamina, and the higher of your Spell Damage or Weapon Damage. So, if you still have more Magicka after transforming, then you've got more offensive power than you would if you had put all of your Attributes into Health, for instance.

I want to express that building for Magicka on a Werewolf is not a bad thing. Especially for PvP, having a high Magicka pool also means you'll be able to cast Hircine's Bounty more, which is your only on-demand instant heal ability.

As for Class, Sorcerer is one of the best Classes for Werewolf, next to Templar, due to having the greatest number of Class passives which don't require Class Abilities, and thus work in Werewolf form. Light Armor is also considerably useful for Werewolf, particularly for the offensive penetration, Magicka cost reduction and recovery, and snare reduction (keep in mind that Werewolf has no snare purge!)

So, in conclusion, Magsorc isn't a bad choice for Werewolf PvP. Though if you want to min-max for PvE DPS, I'd consider moving all of your Attributes to Stamina instead.

I misread "Magblade" as "Magsorc". Whoops!

A lot of what I wrote above still applies, however note that for Nightblade Werewolf, their applicable Class Passives augment passive recoveries. For PvP, build into those recoveries (particularly Magicka Recovery) and for PvE, lean more heavily into damage sets, since your recovery will help your sustain issues in content.

Unfortunately, Nightblade Werewolf doesn't have many great passives that help them deal damage, but it should still be helpful in the right build.
