Why is Scribing so bad

Seriously this was supposed to be the face of Gold Road and I don’t get why it’s just so bad.
For once every combination you want to make isn’t even allowed. Wanna make a self explosion of disease damage? Nope. Wanna make an AOE taunt? Nope. Okay maybe I’ll make my horse run at people and cause their armor to break oh wait never mind can’t do that either.
Seriously what’s the point of this if every combination you wanna do isn’t even allowed

Want an unsatisfying answer? To sell future DLC. In the meantime all we can do is demand they expand on this incomplete system we paid $40 for. And for them to get rid of the time-insulting grind barrier on paid content.

This was always going to be the problem with spell crafting. Either there are a few massively overpowered options that everyone feels forced to use, or it's so locked down that all of the available options are boring.
