While I do want Vampire and Werewolf Companions, I don't think we should be allowed to bite our existing Companions. For lore reasons, certain Companions absolutely hate Daedra and/or werewolves/vampires and would never accept such curses. Plus, the curses would have to be account-wide, because there are associated Werewolf/Vampire skills that might be present on their skill bar.

Rather, I think entirely new Companions should be made who incorporate their vampirism or lycanthropy into their dialogue and story. Of course, this means that curing the new Companions cannot be part of their story, because that would remove skills associated with their curse from them across all of your characters — even on your characters where the Companion hasn't been cured yet. Creating new Companions who have their curse as part of their identity opens up narrative opportunities, and makes managing the new Companion skills across multiple characters feasible.

As an aside, maybe instead of the player biting the Companions, the special Werewolf/Vampire Companions might offer to bite the player if the player reaches maximum positive rapport with them.

No that would be too much grinding! Not everyone likes companions and want to do their special quests.. I certainly don't.

What needs to happen is to make ALL werewolves and all vampires in open world the ability to bite you.. I think it's just too silly to wait until there is a full moon to get a bite from feral ww/vampires.

I do think it's confusing that there must be a distinction between the rare spawns and the ordinary spawns. I remember one time making someone mad because I helped them deal with the werewolves attacking them outside of the gates of Aldcroft in Glenumbra — they thought those ordinary spawns could inflict lycanthropy. And why would they believe otherwise?

Truth be told, I would like to see infectious werewolves and vampires be added to all of the zones, rather than just The Rift, Bangkorai, and Reaper's March. I'd also like to see the Werewolf and Vampire shrines be added to more zones as well.

I'm skeptical about making every werewolf and vampire enemy infectious, but I concede that there's no good way to distinctly tell at a glance which enemies can infect you because they just look like regular enemies that have spawned in an unusually rare location. Players who want to remain uninfected should be able to play through content which has werewolf or vampire enemies within (such as Moon Hunter Keep or Castle Thorn) and not have to deal with being infected every time they enter.

As for my suggestion regarding the Werewolf/Vampire Companions, I just figured it'd be an in-character side reward for becoming close to these characters. It'd be like how in TES V: Skyrim, you can ask Aela the Huntress to grant you lycanthropy, or Serana to grant you vampirism — both characters of which can be followers, like ESO's Companions.

I don't expect the free Werewolf/Vampire bites from your Companions to actually happen. Bites are easy to get from other players, among other means. I figured that if it was going to happen, that putting it behind the per-character rapport grind wouldn't devalue the Werewolf/Vampire bites too much.

Plus, it has to be at high positive rapport. I'd imagine the scenario playing out much differently if you ask the Werewolf/Vampire Companion who hates you to bite you....

I definitely would love this. My main is a werewolf and I got the werewolf pelt skin so ride around in the Nordic bathers costume to show it off. I have Isobel in the same costume but of course, I can't give her the skin or make her a werewolf. The best solution is having a companion who can be bitten or already has lycanthropy. She could call it her great secret until you unlock her transformation ultimate and then the story for the companion could be how she came to be infected or something like that.

I doubt we will get it though. Werewolves have been given a little love in update 42 but they still look the same as they did 10 years ago even though there is a much better behemoth version available, it just needs scaling down to our size. I'm hoping they could add something to scribing for werewolves, but I doubt it's on their radar.

I believe Werewolf is on their radar for future Scribing skills. ZOS considered many skill lines initially, but settled on the ones which most people will be able to use. Now that those are taken care of, I'd expect some of the other skill lines — like Werewolf, Vampire, Undaunted, and Support — to receive Grimoires next.

Great ideas. It would be nice if you could apply your skins to companions too.
