[REQUEST] Give us possibility to place alternative chars to our homes

I know this has already been asked but I think it is time for a renewal.

I imagine to have an additional category with slots for alt chars that you can place in your home and which then can be handled like house guests apart from the fat that hey cannot be talked to. So you can place them and give them a path.

If you spawn in your house with another char it makes no difference.

In case you spawn in your house as a char that is placed in that house that char is temporarily removed.

Should not be difficult to implement.

I'd like you to be able to place them with an emote attached. Have them sitting around a table, dancing, sleeping, whatever.

That would generally be an improvement, for all house guests. It would look more "realistic" than just standing around doing nothing or walking around aimlessly.

They would have to create a houseguest model for every character every player has, then dress them however the character is dressed. Then what happens when the player changes their outfit or costume? Does the houseguest change to match them?

This does not sound simple and would be a huge resource drain.

The characters could be rendered exactly the same way players are. However, that would load the server much more than a typical npc would, so they wouldn't want to.

It would be a small performance hit for one player housing instance, but if every time someone went into their home the server had to load data for the idle character guests and transmit it to the client(s), the combined server load for all housing instances would be significant.

    It's just not worth it.

I don't quite see that problem.

In most houses and specifically in larger houses there are numerous slots for players to be present at the same time and they all come with their own style. To have 3 or 4 toons as special house guests won't increase the load as much and even if it did one could as well reduce the visitor slots by the number of used special house guest slots.

I understand that it never will be possible to have all 20 alt toons in one house and that is fine. But to have let's say 3 or 4 slots for some of them should not be such a huge issue.

Houseguests that are currently available are the exact same for all players, so they are only one NPC that can be used by many. If there were copies of all the characters every player has in the game that would be a huge amount of houseguests that all take data to create and store on the server. With the move to conserve data by the changes to the mail and trader systems I seriously doubt they would do this.

Then how would these houseguests even be created and accessed? Would they be for sale on the crown store? And how would they get there? They aren't going to make copies of every character in the game and put them all up on the crown store just in case someone wants to purchase one.

Check out these ideas I had for housing

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/651029/since-q3-will-feature-a-housing-content-this-is-what-i-wish-for-homestead-2-0

Farming mini game, placing alts at home, mission board for you to assign companions and alts around Tamriel, sleeping in bed to recharge more enlightenment points, mannequins and glass displays for motifs (plus the ability to lay gear on the floor or table or anywhere).
