As it's heavily implied that there will be more Grimoires (Scribing skills) added in the future, which skill lines do you want to see new skills added to? Which skill lines would best mesh with your playstyles? Further, what would you like these new Grimoires to be able to do?

The main one I want is a way to change the warden bear into other animals. For me a wolf or senche cat (not a khajiit) would be ideal.

I know that's likely a long way down the list of things ZOS are planning to include, if they're even considering it, but it's the first thing I thought of when I heard about scribing.

I hope we get at least a handful of new Grimoires next. I voted Werewolf because werewolves cannot use any Grimoires that aren't for the Werewolf skill line, but I am enjoying many of the Scribing skills for the human form. I found a Scribed skill which I'm fond of, so I'm really looking forward to having that level of customization for my werewolf characters.

I personally hope we get Werewolf, Vampire, Support, and Undaunted Grimoires at least, but I'd also love to see Grimoires for all 3 Armor skill lines, since the Weapon skill lines were covered. After that, it would be fun to have Grimoires for DLC skill lines, like Psijic Order or Dark Brotherhood.

I love these ideas for Alchemy and Woodworking Grimoires! I figured there'd be a lot of potential there, if we were to ever get Grimoires for skill lines without active abilities.

Maybe Enchanting could have a Grimoire that applies an effect to your weapon, similar to Imbue Weapon from the Psijic Order skill line? Or, how about a Dark Brotherhood Grimoire which uses the Blade of Woe?

I wonder what sort of active abilities could be made for Legerdemain, Scrying, and Excavation?

Legerdemain and Thieves Guild Grimoires would likely be very similar, as they're both primarily concerned with thievery and stealth. They'd probably provide a bonus to pickpocketing and lockpicking chances, or an increase to your stealth ability.

Scrying and Excavation would likely be more focused on treasure hunting and discovery. Maybe Grimoires for those skill lines would be able to detect stealthed enemies, amplify the bonus of the Keen Eye passives, or perhaps increase the gold you gain. For Excavation in particular, since it involves digging, I'd bet Physical Damage would be one of the applicable Focus Scripts.

ZOS should create different skill types for every skillline that has a grimoire: Weapon dmg melee range, magic damage melee range, magic damage ranged, weapon dmg ranged, and both an aoe and single target version of all those.

Right now grimoires and scripts are all too specific to be of any real use.

I could see invisibility or reduced detection radius in stealth being Focus or Signature Scripts used for Legerdemain, Thieves Guild, or Dark Brotherhood Grimoires. After all, the three skill lines heavily depend on stealth, whether it's used for assassinating or stealing. I honestly wouldn't be opposed to a source of Invisibility outside of Nightblade, Vampire, and invisibility potions.

Do you mean through the use of Skill Styles, which change the appearance of existing abilities, or through the use of Scribing, which allows you to customize entirely new skills?

I could see Feral Guardian and its morphs being given a Skill Style to swap the bear model and animations out for a different animal's model and animations. As for Scribing — I don't know if Grimoires will be allowed to scribe into Ultimate abilities, so if there ever was a Grimoire which gave you a pet, then it'd be a non-Ultimate Active Ability, like the Sorcerer pets, save for the fact that you would be able to customize the function of the pet with the selected Scripts.

What would you suppose would make for an engaging and useful Psijic Order skill? Thematically, half of the skills are about manipulating time (Undo reverses time, Time Stop pauses time, and Accelerate speeds up time) so what would be a fun addition to this skill line? Further, what functionally useful Grimoire could be made to make use of the Psijic Order passives?

Thematically, I think a sort of "time skip" ability would be appropriate for the skill line. It would be easiest to implement a "time skip" as a blink ability, similar to Bolt Escape from the Storm Calling skill line. Scripts could be used to determine the effects of the blink ability, such as what buffs and resources you gain from casting the ability, and what happens between your starting and ending positions.

Functionally, I think a spammable ability to more easily proc the Spell Orb passive would be appropriate. Many of the skills in this skill line have cast times or channel times, so they already benefit from the Deliberation passive. The only useful Psijic Order ability when used as a spammable is Imbue Weapon, as the others are buff/debuff abilities with no ability to directly heal or damage the target. So, a Psijic Order Grimoire should be able to directly heal/damage and buff/debuff the target in order to be useful as a spammable to use for the Spell Orb passive.

If I were ZOS, I'd be targeting the remaining "universal" skills with the free Q4 update: Undaunted, Support, and maybe Psijic, Vampire, and Werewolf too. Then, for the next chapter release, I'd start working on the class skill lines.

But however they do it, I need more grimoires. More! All of the grimoires!

Class Skill Lines (Nightblade, Sorcerer, Dragonknight, Templar, Warden, Necromancer, Arcanist)
I would like an undaunted toggle ability where it toggles you into unarmed mode while on that bar for a damage boost to your light attacks in exchange for being locked out of weapon skills and passives. Or it's a spammable that passively locks you out of weapon skills and passives while on any bar where it's slotted.

The Focus scripts dictate what kind of bonus damage or effect your light and heavy attacks do. IE Physical Damage, Bleed Damage, stacks of an effect that stuns, less damage but a small heal to a target nearby, multi-target, etc.

The signature scripts add secondary effects or cooldown effects. Like a DoT, damage shield with each punch, reduced damage taken, status effect chance, etc.

If it's a "while on this bar" effect, the affix scripts could lean on the stronger side or be active while slotted, or strong debuffs with short durations so you have to keep punching.

I think this is a pretty unique idea for a Grimoire! It'd be like the Mend Wounds skill, how it's a toggle that changes what your light and heavy attacks do. The only important thing that I want to mention is that every Undaunted skill has a synergy in there somewhere — what would you suppose this Undaunted Grimoire's synergy would be? It could be something like Werewolf's Feeding Frenzy synergy, which provides Empower and Minor Force, which would work nicely with the idea of a skill which emphasizes light and heavy attacks rather than abilities.

I also think that "While Slotted (on Either Bar)" effects would work great as Affix Scripts, given that each Grimoire implements how the Affix Scripts function differently from one another.

I don't really that much of a preference, as long as they keep adding them regularly!

Though thinking of it, one thing I'd really like is a skill for the sword/shield skill line that does something with the sword instead of the shield, just something very simple like a series of regular slashes, I would love that.
