There have been a few decisions by the developers lately that have caused players to turn away from the game.

One of the bigger middle fingers was turning off the ability to accept credit card payments from a large number of European banks. People who can't pay are very likely to walk away.

This does not sound like it was an arbitrary decision. They would not do that unless there was some serious issues,

Two of my clients who have similar Worldline Global account setups to Zenimax are unaffected. Square Enix are also unaffected. I phoned my account manager at Worldline Global and had a lengthy chat about it, although obviously we were not able to review Zenimax's subscription itself, my account manager made it blatantly clear that the change was due to a deliberate and unquantifiable decision.

If other major vendors including my clients and Square Enix are unaffected in their ability to accept global sources of payments in localised currencies, then the only remaining option (arbitrary? There was nothing 'by chance' about this) was a deliberate decision to disable payments for certain geographical regions.

This info came from a highly knowledgeable person at Worldline Global, someone whom I know I can trust. On the other hand we've had zero info from Zenimax other than to say they're aware of a problem. When it's a case of zero info from the client, and verifiable information from the vendor, who else should I believe but the vendor?

What do we want? Our anniversary goblets and Alfiqi plushies!
When do we want them? Back in April 2024 when we expected to receive them!

They reduced the dungeon number from 4 to 2 per year. There is less reasons to get keyes now (only two shoulders to get) and pledges don't reward much besides.

Well I guess it is the summer for the majority of people playing the game and tbh not many folk who play the game will be looking to do 6 key pledges at all, never mind with a PUG.

As for encouraging anyone into doing more dungeons and trials in this game, who might not have done much before, a quick read of these and other forums is enough to put many off. If you aren't accused of being a fake tank, a fake healer or a fake dps (I mean wth is a fake dps?) then you are kicked from the group if you don't know the mechanics and even sometimes if you dare to use an oakensoul heavy attack build.

So it is no wonder that many just want to do overland and housing.

So if you are into doing 6 keys daily then go and join a guild with other sweaty types in it and you will have no issues doing your sweaty content. ;)

    3. Stand around at the ToT tables hacking the card matches.

    Uh... what?

Granted, I usually just stand in my house and queue into matches versus real people these days, so I haven't played against the NPCs in quite some time, but... when playing an NPC, your character does just that. Stands at a table while you are in the match with the NPC. That's not hacking, that's... literally just playing an NPC match. If it's more than one player, they are simply in their own instances of ToT.

I cannot possibly fathom what anyone would gain by "hacking" NPC matches...?

That's like seeing someone on the ground doing the antiquity excavation animation is them hacking the antiquity.

A better analogy would be saying that all of the other players standing at the banker at the same time as you are hacking your bank account while you're accessing the banker.

    Very well said, agreed.

Of course I’m just one player, but I’ve been running pledge dungeons less often since the reward of transmute stones was nerfed. I really don’t care about keys that much. I’ve enjoyed many of the base game dungeons but by now have run them a lot and they aren’t challenging in an interesting way (sure, you can make them take a long time to complete if group DPS is abysmal, but that’s tedious, not interesting).

I haven’t been able to put together a party for 6 keys for 8 hours now. Day off, prime time.

unfortunately I know of a few guilds that finally gave in and disbanded with the recent issues. It was the final nail in the multi year coffin that was being built.
