Sure, BUT only if it is done in the same style as Helldivers 2 battle pass (warbomds)
    Aka
    -passes never expire
-you get a wide selection of items per tier
-you don't need to get every item in a tier of the pass to unlock the next tier one

If they are NOT implemented like that, then it's a hard no

Helldivers 2 CEO has stepped down and the new CEO is one of the worst CEO in gaming industry. So you can say goodbye to those amazing battlepasses very soon.

No, battle passes are the worst. It punishes you for not playing and takes away all the fun if you missed something. That's why we have limited time events and crown store, crown crates.

Battle passes fit in games like Fortnite, but not ESO. NO.

No to a BP, since they are usually extremely grindy and require you to basically do tasks 24/7/365 to get rewards.

RuneScape had 3 "generations" of a BP, with the last one being rather controversial and eventually scrapped after 1 season: https://runescape.wiki/w/Hero_Pass#Controversy

Adding my "No thank you" to this suggestion.
I have an ethereal crown of three spirit crows:
    - On top is Grandfather spouting words of wisdom.
    - On the left is Empathy who is rather naive.
    - On the right is Ego who is rather greedy.
The incessant cackling is quite amusing.

If this was completely in lieu of other types of monetization already in ploy - extensive in game store, gambling loot boxes (crown crates), paid dlc, buy to play game, etc etc, then sure.

The problem is the seasonality of the battle passes too. ESO already employs an absurd amount of FOMO and battle passes capitalize on that. I personally would preferred the age old subscription model, but I know lots of people are against that as well.

It’s kinda a pick your poison situation. It’s a live service game, but people don’t want monetization. Monetization is absolutely necessary to keep the lights on and keep things rockin and rollin, but the extent to which ESO does it is more than any other western MMO. I think in a perfect world, a buy to play base game that’s very cheap with a subscription model and paid dlc is fine. But we also get an extensive loot crate and cosmetic shop system, which completely removes reward structure and vertical progression.

All of this to say, let’s not add to the already big problem the game has :)

Meant to say visual progression NOT vertical progression
