If you have an active ESO+subscription with VISA card registered, then it will still be charged when periode have ended and start a new periode.

My ESO+ was renewed with 30 new days on my VISA card but I can't make any purchase with the same card in ESO Store.

It is only an issue if you need to add card information in ESO store to start a new ESO+subscription periode.

At least I'll be able to play with my friends in dungeons and trials as usual, thanks for the reply.

We are receiving reports of players getting the error "The card whose details you have entered is not supported. Please enter the details of another card or try another payment method", when attempting to purchase Crowns or ESO Plus on the website. While we are investigating this error, please attempt to use a different payment method. Our FAQ below has some additional information that may help.

Why am I getting a "The card whose details you have entered is not supported" error when trying to make a purchase on the ESO website?

This isn't very helpful for people that have no other payment methods, I know of a couple people that are unable to use anything besides their only debit/credit card and, as such, are unable to pay for subs or get any new DLCs...

Has anyone here tried using Paypal as a work-around?

When I first started playing (2018), I never had any issues with my debit card, but then I switched banks, and while the new card was a VISA like the one I had been using successfully for a couple of years, the ZOS payment system wouldn't accept this new card, even though I used it all over the place, elsewhere, with no problem.

So I tried with my Paypal account, which ironically, uses the same card as a payment source, and it worked.
    Still does, to this day.

nope cause as some have said they don't trust Paypal, they have issues with data leaks and they have frozen funds of ppl who are not politically correct/who go against certain narratives after ppl report that person to Paypal, also if they have working cards why should they make Paypal or any other platform account? its Zos issue and they half to fix it!!! also the fees for getting money to other platform like Paypal

PayPal is a valid and suggested alternative while this is being addressed, if ZOS decides to address it.

Personally, if I had this problem and need to set up an alternate payment method, I would be looking for evidence that this option was working. The best place to find that is by going through threads like this looking for people saying they used it successfully.

While some people may be quick to rule it out, I can reasonably state that this is likely not something that applies to everyone that will come across this thread.

I would not hesitate to use PayPal if I needed to make a payment for ESO and ran into credit card problems. Likewise, I would not hesitate to suggest it. I won't debate the merits of why some people don't like PayPal, as that is outside of the immediate issue, and that is finding a payment method that works.

Same problem here... any feedback from ZOS?

Nope. I've already been in contact with Worldline Global who have confirmed that Zenimax need to re-enable certain regional processing options on their account.

Until that happens, Zenimax is unable to accept payments from a large number of European card issuers. They keep telling us to use PayPal or PaySafeCard - I don't think they have ANY clue just how tedious and painful both of those options are.

Interestingly the Square Enix website also uses Worldline Global to process payments, and my card is accepted there. Then there's the Bethesda Gear store, I used the same card yesterday morning to make a payment of $150 there.

      ESO doesn't want our money.

Any progression @ZOS_Bill on this issue? We are now close to Gold Road will go live on server, so I would like to use my VISA Debit Card to purchase Gold Road with Pre-purchase items before that date.

You, ZoS, have had more then 2 weeks (first post started at 9th Mai) to get your ESO Store to accept European VISA Debit/Credit cards and Master Card.

American Express isn't a common card where I live and PayPal could cause issues as PP allow to pay without founds and then decide to make a charge back which there also have been people here on Forum reporting about as they got banned even when they had make sure to have funds on PayPal.

I would just like to confirm for anyone coming here because they are having issues, that Paypal will work, even with the card that is being refused when tried directly, I used it yesterday to buy Gold Road.

I understand for some people that is not an option but if you have no problem using it, it is totally a viable workaround. 🙂

Edit:- Just a fyi for anyone worried, I've been using it for many years!

No updates in this and not a word about if they are even trying find the problem.

      It's shocking isn't it?

Reminds me of the guild bank duplication bug I reported during beta. Zenimax ignored all of my bug reports about it, then the game went live and the dupe exploit still existed. I was bewildered by why they'd ignore my reports about this major exploit.

Shortly after launch when I realised other players were abusing the exploit I had repeatedly reported, I went public with a forum post on the topic. Zenimax still continued to bury their collective heads in the sand.

It wasn't until a few days later when someone posted a YouTube video demonstrating the exploit that Zenimax suddenly became alive. I even had private messages from Gina Brunos asking me for more info, claiming that the developers had only just found out about the exploit...

I walked away from the game at that point, I had to take some time out to collect myself. The fact that Zenimax had the audacity to claim ignorance about the issue despite my bug reports and telephone support calls showed me a side of Zenimax that I did not like.

I am deeply saddened to see that in 10 years Zenimax have not learned any lessons about the need for core members of their departments to be directly involved with helpdesk tickets. Communication is important, and Zenimax's internal policy of "don't let the support department bother us while we work on 'fun' stuff" has proven time and again to be a bad policy.

Had more or less the same response wkere CS had "escalted" it be we at CS can not do anything regarding payment system and investigating this issue, meanwhile use other payment method.

In short they don't provide any time frame, don"t even mention who is their payment provider ir if they have made their payment provider aware about this situation even when I have given links to this and other thread explaining what is happening and probably solution that is to change what card numbers that are checked after IIN have been checked and to allow VISA and Master Card to work again in their own ESO Store.

So the Dark Elves have weird alien architecture, where people live in mushroom towers and the shell of a giant crab, but the High Elves, the pinnacle of technology, the most magically advanced race in Tamriel, are still stuck in slightly pretty, fairly tall stone buildings? Not even a hint of a glass city? Are stainless glass windows really enough to claim that a city is made of glass?

It feels like very answer from Kevin, Bill and co. have been "we are investigating" or "update soon" without providing any evidence at what they are doing, if they are doing anything at all at this stage.

It have been almost a month since first post described this issue and for my part 3 weeks since I made a ticket about this.

I have always used ESO Store to make my purchases and now with this issue ZoS are forcing me to use other external web stores that I don't even know if they have any agreement with ZoS as official retailer in case if anything happens to my accounts like random ban because ZoS have decided that redeemed keys aren't leggit.

Lmao, guess some things never change. I had my ESO plus payment rejected around a year ago (had funds in the bank, and card had not expired) So I figured hey, maybe this a sign to go play other games and whatnot.
Figured I might come back and give gold road a try so Imagine my surprise when after selecting gold road deluxe edition and an ESO+ resub when i got to the checkout and my card is not supported (it's a well known card)!!

This has got to be the only game I have played that prevents me from paying money to play the game!!

Might give it another whirl after I have finished a few more games, hopefully they will be ready to take payment on reasonably major cards once more!

I concur. We are being given the run-around. No proper communication, topics with valid information being closed instead of merged into one central topic on the subject, support tickets that have been escalated but receive no further action.

It appears Zenimax know exactly what the issue is, but are reluctant to communicate it to us because that means admitting it was the result of a deliberate decision by them[Edited - A forum post by ZOS_Kevin has stated that this was not deliberate, and he followed up with another post stating that Zenimax are liaising with Worldline Global to get this sorted.]

I'm at the point now where if there isn't some honesty and openness from Zenimax about something as serious as this then the only feasible truth is that they really do not care about their customers. And if that's the case, then I have to reconsider whether I care enough about Zenimax.
