for me the event didnt change my normal play habits, outside of the 4 days i spent grinding out the style pages

i dont like or enjoy daily writs, i was doing 1 daily writ per day because it was the quickest/easiest way to get a gold event box before i changed characters to do other things

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Yep, I agree. As much as I do enjoy playing ESO, I can't exclusively play it like I used to. Try to pop in for my favorite events and as soon as I can for new Chapters - unfortunately the new chapters drop at one of the busiest times of year for my job so like this year I likely won't get to it until August if I'm lucky.

Have another game that got put on hold while I was here for the event, looking forward to doing more over there for a little while before work picks back up again. Need some nice relaxing pick flowers and explore new areas I've never seen time before the chaotic madness that will be my summer lol.

I only did writs on one character because doing 20 chars would feel like work--all the inventory management! The fact that the event comes after Jester's Fest makes me really want a break.

I kinda wish the anniversary event boxes gave you way more, but that you earned fewer boxes overall, so it was less grindy. Like a boosted box for your first set of writs each day only. I'm not sure that anyone would miss the experience of doing writs on all their characters lol, just the rewards. It's unsocial and grindy content, but so worth it to do, which causes this big drain.

And even if I don't do all these writs, I feel a bit bad for not doing them lol. So I think the way it's designed has these negative consequences.

That's why gaming is so successful. People suffer for a modicum of... rewarding feeling.

I am in the process of deleting the 15 alts I made for this event.

It was well worth it but I was almost glad we were forced to quit early. It took an hour just clear their inventories every day. And I spent a lot of time selling off stuff that should have been valuable and wasn't.

I did get a Cipher, 3 Aetherial dust and over 50 perfect roe.

As these events only grant trivial items and never ever any combat advantages there is no tactical reward for completion.

Cosmetics, mounts, pets & houses are nice but infinitesimally useful in actual gameplay. I for one am re-evaluating my involvement with forthcoming events after this rather abysmal jubilee event.

Couldn't agree more. I'll say this much, the 10th anniversary was an event we'll never forget. :)

I've writted my way through previous events. Some on multiple accounts.

But I writted only intermittently during this one, cos damn it's so boring.
I'm taking some time and reacquainting myself with the Necrom storyline before Gold Road drops.

I played it for the first time just recently. It's good.

And have a big backlog of story content.

I've been playing on and off since the game launched, and I still haven't even done Craglorn. Started that quest line on one character but only made it like one or two in.

On the plus side, scribing looks to be a fantastic addition. I could wait until that arrives and experience much of the game with that, but having already done about half without, I think I'll catch up on at least one character now.

Then maybe do it again with scribing on others.

Probably having a break during anniversary was my best decision lol, was logging in just for a hour maximum for pages and having fun in other places.

I'm redoing some of my armor with all the transmutes I got from the boxes. There are some niche things I have been eyeing and now I feel like I have extra resources to try them! :-)

The handful of recommended sets (thank you skinnycheeks) are really good, but I would like to see how something besides Pillar of Nirn will play for me... :-)

If it grants mythic items I'd go for it.

Cosmetics and mounts from crates are always better so why bother? might as well just do endeavors everyday

I opted to restrain myself. Only did writs on my main + whatever other characters I was near a writ area on when I logged on them do do something else. But now instead of being burnt out I'm really wishing the event was longer.

A break is a super good idea, if you wait 4-6 months to sell your mats, you can earn even more as prices begin to rise again 😁

I didn't try to farm the rare drops because I've been through exactly this with limited time things in other games. Years ago I spent so long trying to beat an intentionally difficult boss during an event that I was literally dreaming about it. I eventually did it and then didn't play that game for a couple of weeks. Sometimes it's been a month or two.

Now I generally try to avoid getting into that situation (and rarely have that much time for games anyway), so when I saw the announcement emphasising how rare these style pages are I just assumed they wouldn't be worth the trouble and didn't bother.

If you're feeling burned out I think it's a good idea to take a break for a while. Wait until you feel like coming back and when you do focus on the things that made you want to come back, try to avoid falling back into the habit of prioritising farming stuff. (For one thing if you spend all your time farming you never have an opportunity to enjoy using the rewards.)

Be glad that the event was normal duration or only two days longer (depending on platform).

A few years back, they [snip] something up as well and extended the anniversary event for a full week.
    That way lies madness.

Event ended right as Remnant 2 DLC came out, so I will probably focus on that until Gold Road. When I play ESO, it’ll be casual and just do randoms, some quest lines, and crafting catch up.

That period between the Anniversary event and the new chapter is usually my recovery time with the game. Log in and do endeavors, log off. Maybe do a few house keeping things as well, like clear out the hundreds of surveys from all the writs. Just a nice two months of decompressing before going full bore on the new chapter.

I have a mule just for storing my writs and surveys. So many to do after binging the crafting dailies over the event.

I can't complain though, I've already made 6 million in gold sales from motifs alone. Still have 4x30 guild slots full, and a bank full of blue plans to sell. And then all of the perfect roe and other mats I do no use to sell. Lotta gold in this event.

This is what I started doing a long time ago and it saved my sanity. I was burning myself out doing dailies, all of them not just writs, on 17 characters. I had to remind myself that the burn out is my own fault, it’s all optional, and this is a game meant for fun.

Now I love this event and others.
