Maintenance for the week of January 6:
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – January 8, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)
· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – January 8, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 13:00 UTC (8:00AM EST)

Why is it that nonsensical decisions are so commonplace by those who "manage" this game?

I understand not getting everything right.
I do not understand getting almost everything wrong.

Guess my decision to go on hiatus with U41was more justified than I believed.

keep in mind if something goes seriously wrong in maintenance today the game could be down for 10+ days.

    possibilities include:

    1) A complete wipe of all character data
    2) Some random database error that cause players immediately to crash out of game
    3) Everyone is reset to level 1 and has to start over
    4) <Insert Your Worst Imagined Possibility> and multiply it by ∞ (Math before coffee, except after 3, is not for me)

While I agree it sucks the people who have been locked out missed out on much more than us. On the other hand, it is totally unacceptable of Zos to promise us a 2 day extension, then without much of a notice (less than 24 hours) they say they're taking the servers down for maintenance at EXACTLY the same time as reset.

My question is this: Is another 4 hours of waiting really going to make much of a difference for you when the event will have been over anyways? We are getting 4 hours of event playing time ripped away from us. Yes, you should get your accounts back ASAP. But why at the expense of everyone else on NA servers getting their play time interrupted? How is that fair to the rest of us? They should have just waited the 4 hours and start maintenance at 7AM PST when the event would have ended. Now, lots of players have been robbed of their last tickets and boxes.

Zos should extend the event at least 1 or 2 more days. Ideally another week so everybody can get more Jubilee time. This event was so underwhelming with all the maintenance and blunders by Zos. Very disappointing.

Same here, happier than ever to not pay for this ''service'' anymore.
    Total ESO playtime: 8325 hours
    ESO plus status: Cancelled
    ESO currently uninstalled.

    4) Every character on every server is permanently deleted, the entire game is deleted forever, everyone gets charged $100,000 for crowns that they'll never receive and for which there will be no refunds, everyone's computer bursts into flames, and an asteroid obliterates the earth.

The question is, will ZOS be able to pull it off? I honestly think they can!

Extend the event a day to give locked out players at least one more day of Jubilee instead.

    That would be nice.

What in the world do we get out of that?

Access to the Impresario? Some people want that.

And possibly more kindness and less upset from our fellow players, some of whom had relied on the extra day for the mount and spent tix accordingly. Not much pain, I would agree, compared to being locked out for weeks and missing most of the event entirely, but a lot of people won't get the mount now, it seems.

So now there's this 'maintenance cutting off the last 3 tix' versus 'letting locked out players back in asap' thing. As if it's a zero sum game.
Creating a complete acrimonious mess for absolutely no reason except poor understanding of the games own cycles, silo departments and a failure to plan 2 days ahead. None of which is the players' doing.

By the way, a big thank you Beta testers. I follow many of you on the content creation platforms and have many friends caught up in this nightmare, and the reward you got was being dragged into this mess...
Here's to new and better days

Except they didn't fully wipe it, they didn't forget to restore everyone (I know some people said their accounts looked fine), and they still have the data.

Time to go out and roll in Mother Earth's green hair and find out if vampires truly are weak to sunlight.

    No. You did not.
Just wanted to quickly confirm anyone who logged in and didn't see their characters or items - everything is safe and we have the data, and it also didn't affect everyone. We are working on restoring everything now. Thank you again for letting us know so quickly!
