Why not use scribing to make an aoe taunt?

The only aoe skills at scribing where you can use taunt as focus scripture I found are two handed and bow. But even though these skills hit multiple targets, only one enemy is taunted. Why? What's the sense of being able to use taunt on an aoe ability if it taunts only one enemy? I mean people complained for years they want an aoe taunt and then there is the perfect opportunity with scribing but no. It would even allow some niche builds with just bow or two handed for like tanking with bow or two handed in trash pulls.

Agree, we'd have much more tanks if tanking were enjoyable. Dealing zero damage and taunting+pulling one enemy at a time isn't my idea of fun tbh

Because they know there would get a TON of backlash for removing it from a base game set and saying it doesn't fit their "vision" for taunt only to put it behind a $50 paywall a few months later

I was thinking the same thing when it comes to Werewolf changes. They are forcefully adding a taunt to WW toolkit and as a result ww is getting nerfed.

So why not wait a patch or two and add customizable werewolf skill that players can slot on their WW skill bar and replace one of existing skill with anything they want ?

I mean scribing skills can be tweaked to have almost any additional effect you want.

Everything good is or was behind a paywall. Like mythics with the antiquity system in greymoor. Or jewelry crafting in Summerset. Meta sets from dlc dungeons or raids. Or arcanist as one of the strongest classes at the moment.

When they changed Tormentor I thought that exact same thing and we were going to have another Iceheart and Mother Ciannait situation.

Also they did kinda the same thing when they nerfed the hell out of the aoe damage of heavy attack sorcs when conveniently the arcanist and his crazy aoe damage was released.

It's more so the fact that it WAS in the game available to everyone then they saw that people liked it, took it out of the game then put it back behind a paywall, no longer available to everyone unless you pay

I would have thought so too. ^^ But the tooltip just says one enemy is taunted and using untaunted it also showed that only one enemy was actually taunted.
