Argonian and khajiit players

Walking around towns it seems most elven player characters are all the same, many go for similar styles and outfits. It's easy to see what's popular for them. But I'm curious what people who play as argonians or khajiit look for when making their character. I see some who have godly bright skins, others who are going for almost a blackout assassin look, some are very tribal. What do you like to choose or look for in others on those races?

For me personally I always like to go for the big and mean argonian look. Someone who would protect you or destroy your world depending on who you are to them. When looking around towns and judging argonians, I like to look for big armor and big tails haha. I also dislike feathers on them, bluegh.

For khajiit I really enjoy the ones that are dressed elegantly and shows their fur pattern, especially the tiger-looking skins. I don't play them much though, but I always enjoy seeing them. And their eyes. I feel like many khajiit players hide their eyes and it makes me sad.

As someone who plays elves and kitties and lizards....

Elves are shortchanged, especially in the hairstyle department. There's only about 4 or 5 which really suit. For males at least.

Kitties and lizards have way more options. Especially when it comes to skin - by which I mean "body marking" + body colour, not collectible "skin".

It makes buying that body marking pack more worthwhile for those characters. You can really drastically change your look without delving into the less realistic looks that most collectible skins have.

I dress them mostly what fits their individual stories, so one of my Khajiit has New Moon armor and one of my Argonians has an Argonian skirt (I don't remember what motif exactly, maybe Blackfin Legion), while one Argonian is mostly wearing Apostle stuff and one Khajiit is wearing mostly Wyrd stuff (though I may change to Crowborne).

@Bodey are you able to share with the class some of your favorites?

I don't really look at the skins of the Khajiit and Argonians...I look at some of the creative names and see what I can come up with.

@Malyore, sure. Whenever I make Argonians, it's either they're really small and skinny, or they're tall and fat. When making them, I tend to think of a backstory and go from there. My most recent Argonian (Hates-His-Kids) is rather a sad character, so I decided to go with dark colors. As for body markings, I tend not to use them because I feel it takes away from the skin details, which I think are beautiful. Hairstyles usually end up being a hair that all classes use. Current favorite is the werewolf one that looks like a Joe Dirt mullet.

My Argonian had a bit of a weird start.

The original idea was for him to be a Khajiit - a Pahmar if ZOS had ever released a 'giant cheese' memento after we lost the ability to collect that on multiple characters. But then as I got to know Sharp, I decided to swap him to an Argonian instead.

I could never really nail down his fashion. He was escaped from the Telvanni, he was a necromancer, and he'd end up as a gladiator in the Kvatch arena and join the Dark Brotherhood, but beyond that...? I couldn't figure anything out.
...and then I was looking at some styles and put him in Drowned Mariner. And yes. Yes, that was it.

It's the Gold Coast. They're allowed to have piratical themes, right?

As someone who loves character creation and playing ESO Barbies, I am absolutely in love with my newest Argonian and Khajiit! I wish we had a better calico-like marking/skin combinations, but this time around I thought I took a unique approach and attempted to make a Hairless variant similar to a sphynx! She uses the soul shriven skin with the application of the azure lashes and eyes. Her fashion is polished more than rogue at this moment.

My first Argonian who is my crafter and Main tank doesn't have a saved picture atm, but just wears the flashy spellscar skin because it was something new and the cute daedroth costume (she wears it because it looks like pajamas and her name is she-who-cuddles) but my newest is one of my pride and joys because I wanted to go for a more Flora and Elegant look as she is a healer named Plays-with-shrooms (Warden, because mushrooms! ♥)

Never had an Elf character in any TES game, personally.

Argonian was always the race I chose in Oblivion and Skyrim. So naturally I made an Argonian character first in ESO. I wasn't going for anything specific, she's pretty normal looking imo. She's a NB. And I have two Khajiit, one is a big beefy leopard print boi and the other is a tiny little black cat lady. Opposites.

With both these races though, since we can't use scale/fur patterns in combo with other markings, that limits their looks. I like my Argonian's cocodile skin and my Khajiit's leopard spots, but if I put a tattoo or glowy marks on, they lose those and get bland, plain skin. One of my bigger peeves of the game, aesthetically.

Got three lizards and a cat. Lizards are as follows: 1 storm atronoch poly, one in the skin from the new dungeon/ wedding suit and on in all heavy elder argonian atnor style dyed gold. The cat is in the fisherman's outfit glowing red from class armor and merciless resolve.

I build my characters' looks around their stories. In the case of my most recent Khajiit, she's escaped slavery in a fighting pit (and worse), and is now trying to make her way out in the world as a mercenary and take care of her younger brother, who is always getting into trouble because he thinks he's a hero but ends up in way over his head. That is, when she's not the one getting into trouble for charming the women in town. She's blind in one eye from an... unpleasant event in her past. Her gear is meant to look appropriate for the style of fighting she knows.

I do wish they could have body markings without losing the base ones entirely.

@HatchetHaro Yo! Those are awesome. I really love the 1st and 4th one. I'm the same way, I'm also always keeping an eye out for folks who have the same taste haha. Although usually I'm just the sexiest argonian in town and there aren't any others 😔 I do still think they look great in big pointy armor too. Sometimes in cyrodil I'll follow the guards around because they just look cool.

Two of my characters are Khajiit. One (my main) is a Nightblade; the other is a Templar. They are twin sisters, created with the exact same slider settings, eye color and leopard or jaguar spotted fur pattern; I actually looked at pictures of real leopards and jaguars to make sure I got them right. Where the two differ is their fur color and RP personalities.

    - The Nightblade is melanistic. She has black hair and the "solid black" body marking over her base fur pattern; up close, you can see her base tawny color and spots under the black, just like a real black panther. She wears the Thieves Guild outfit and Morag Tong goggles. She looks pretty much like a living shadow, and when I play her at night or in dark areas, she becomes practically invisible, as she should.
    - The Templar is leucistic. Her base fur color and hair are white, and her fur pattern is "faded", more light gray than black, as a real leucistic cat would be. She dresses colorfully and has a bright personality; the new "flamenco dress" costume (I forget the name of it) that recently came out is totally her style.

I also have two Argonians, who are unrelated RP wise and completely different from each other.

    - My Argonian NB is a Shadowscale. Accordingly, she has black scales, red eyes and wears the Dark Brotherhood costume. Dark and creepy as she should be.
    - My Argonian Warden was made to be a healer, and her RP represents my fun and caring side. She has olive scales and contrasting orange eyes. Her basic clothes are the Argonian style motif - colorful dyed leather trimmed with black obsidian and green leaves. She sometimes wears Argonian costumes to show herself off, like the Lizardly Four Fabric Skirt. In her frost DPS build, she wears the Frostcaster motif set in bright "Santa" red just for fun.

I made two of my other characters twins that way. Although they're not Khajiit gameplay-wise, they're meant to be Ohmes, even though Ohmes Khajiit don't exist as playable characters and Ohmes are supposed to look more like Bosmer.

Yes, I had a composite picture of all four of these characters matched to their heights just sitting around for no reason. It's totally not because they're slowing becoming a lesbian polycule in their storyline,. nope.

I got several and of both and what they look like depends on the character idea I had of them. Variation is the spice of life and I like it spicy. Meaning I like them varied.

I've Saxhleel and Lukiul argonians (Lukiul is the Jel term for argonians who are assimilated to non-argonian cultures), so ones that look tribal, ones that don't and ones that are in the middle.
Likewise do I've khajiit who are from Elsweyr and follow that theme and ones that are not.

I think both are the races you can be the most creative with look-wise and it works without looking out of place. They also got some fun cosmetics but sadly not enough imo, especially argonians who often suffer in the cosmetic department. Like their version of a new hairstyle is often the worst looking.

I noticed I'm missing screenshots of them, and only got some older (not very varied) screenshots of some.
