Right now, the way it functions is that if no corpses are present on the ground it generates a corpse. If consumed or unconsumed corpses are on the ground, it provides a buff.
This might prove annoying to players that are after corpses for use with consumption abilities and it might be excessively empowering in some situations.
For example, if I don't loot an npc it's corpse will stick around for the Class Mastery to use as buff fodder for an extended period of time which means the Class Mastery will not make a new corpse for me until I move 12m away or I loot the npc.

The class masteries seem very lacklustre and not really class specific outside of arcanist and necro. If you’re going to have something like this then all of the classes should have a unique system to take advantage of. Or be disadvantaged by ..,
