Thoughts on Skill Styles

Since Gold Road is getting close, what do some of you fellows look forward to in terms of Skill styles? Like what skill styles you think will become a reality? Like having the destruction staves fire being blue mimicking the cold flame atronach or maybe some for class abilities like turning the necromancers skeletons into Yokudan mummies.I have many hopes for for this thing already since there's so much potential!

I want to finally be able to change the fur color of my werewolf form regardless of which morph of Werewolf Transformation I use. There's a lot of different fur colors that already exist which could be made into Skill Styles:

Additionally, wouldn't it be cool to be able to have some more unique appearances for our werewolf form, such as the "undead" or "skeleton" werewolf looks?

I'm sure others would love to have other werebeasts (like werebears) available via the Skill Styling system, too.

Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

I too would enjoy werewolf ability skill styles, the swipes we have on brutal carnage, or claws of life/anguish could feature enhanced effects like the beast trap ability they showed except instead of a purple color maybe something reddish or blood like for brutal carnage or green like or some such pallor or subdued hue for claws of life anguish to reflect the disease damage in a new light

Everything that can be made blue and fuchsia is good for me as colours; also a proper white, polar bear for Warden would be nice.

Most of what I really want for eventually from Styling is anything for class abilities, like everything everyone's suggested so far, specifically SKINS for abilities, and not just recolors.

Both recolors AND especially skins for things like
warden: bear, shalks, cliff racer, etc
sorc: scamp, twilight, clannfear, storm atro
nightblade: dark shade (especially since the model for this one is sooo old looking)
necro: blastbones, skeleton mage/archer, skull spammable
    dragonknight: chains, standard ult

Don't even get me started on arcanist lol

I hope class skill styling (and scribing) will be next up after Gold Road in the soonest update as possible. It's the most anticipated thing for me in this game since housing back in 2017.

I can see an undead werewolf skill style being used by a necromancer, Falchou is one after all. In glenumbra.

Monetization aside, I'm excited for the possibilities themselves. The main things I want to customize are the Warden's skills. Most seem to be very Vvardenfell-flavoured. I'd like to have the bear be styled as a Wolf or Fox. I'd like the cliff diver to be more of an eagle or hawk. I'd also like to customize the Sorcerer skills, particularly something more visually appealing than the Matriarch.

Good idea! I'd imagine players would also love to finally have a "Vampire Lord" Skill Style for the Blood Scion skill. I do think that something simple like a "Blood Knight" Skill Style would be a good first step in that direction, though.

In general, I'm really hoping that "transformation" and "pet" skills are given plenty of Skill Styles for swapping out the textures and models. That is, being able to change what we look like when we transform or what our pets look like would be an incredible use of the Skill Styling system. We've seen an example of this with the Slate Gray Summoned Bear collectible for changing the fur color of the bear from the Feral Guardian skill, so why not expand this system further?

I play Arcanist so it doesnt matter to me, unless the Skills will also generate Crux. At the moment 90% of all skills in the game are unusable to Arcanist.

Skill Styles are cosmetic changes to the visual appearance of skills. Scribing skills, or Grimoires, are special skills for existing skill lines that allow players to customize their function. Fortunately, there will be a way to generate Crux using Grimoires, by using the Arcanist's "Class Mastery" Script on a Grimoire.

In short, Grimoires can allow Arcanists to generate Crux, while Skill Styles are for changing the appearance of skills.

In the short term I'm hoping for purple and orange color variants of destruction staff and mage's guild abilities. In the long term I'm hoping the same for sorcerer skills, and also pet skinning.

If I had my way the scamp would become a gloam wolf (anyone remember the conjured familiar skill in Skyrim, a wolf that exploded?) and the matriarch would become a crow*. I'm more about that Nocturnal aesthetic. I understand that's very specific to me, though.

I hope for class skill styles that stay in-theme! DK with Red or Coldfire Blue Flames, Sorc with Purple Lightning, Templar with blue-tinted light abilities, Warden with different animals, Arcanist with apocrypha purple-tinted abilities.

Avoid the stuff that doesn’t make sense thematically or design-wise like DK flames turning into Shock-appearance abilities, or Warden Dive causing a full on Dragon to smash into the target.
