ZOS not respecting players' time

10th year jubilee has started and of course the majority of the players wants to get the 5 new styles.
The drop rates were already announced by ZOS as "extremely rare" and I was terrified since even "good" drop rates are usually really bad.

Right now I have spent like 4 hours into Vvardenfell to get Barbas and Sunna'rah and I am currently 7h deep in Summerset without any results.
The fishing and dolmen one I have not even started yet.

What is fun about grinding to hours upon hours the same spots for a single item?
The drop rates are probably even less than 1% but since ZOS does not release those, we can only speculate.

I dare every ZOS member to grind all 5 of them themselves and ask themselves, if they think their drop rates are fair.

I agree that these rewards should be able to unlocked differently. Maybe they should have added an achievement and tie those new Bound Style Pages to number of Boxes earned. So people can do whatever they desire and along the way they can get the rewards.

It is unfun to do Dolmens for hours. Not the mention not everyone can loot the boss and earn boxes. I only did one Summerset Geyser and probably situation is more grim there as there is only one zone compared to Dolmens.

Summerset geysers were actually not a bad time. There were groups running, people were generally being respectful and good natured about the whole thing.

Why on earth did ZOS think that this would be a good way to celebrate? Herd everyone into a tiny space in the vain hope that they will get a style page. As for getting to loot the boss for a purple reward box, unless you are the top 12 players of at least a hundred swarming around these things, forget it.

Happy 10th anniversary. Hope folks get the style pages, I have given up on the geysers. Can't take the eye violence. It has actually given me a headache. The lag is so bad. I might try again during the week when everyone else is at work. At least I get the chance to do that, many others will be stuck with this awful experience during prime time.

I don't really want any of it. So far I'm getting a lot of motifs I haven't had before out of the gold and purple boxes, so I'm happy!

Well phrased. It can be very discouraging to the player base to have RNG rates as low as ZOS often makes them. It's why I'll never buy another crown crate, and these style pages are exponentially worse RNG than something decent coming from a crown crate.

In the announcement only the Trueflame page from fishing is said to have an “extremely” low chance to drop. My partner and I each got ours in under 25 minutes. I’m very glad it didn’t take us that long, but I know others are not having that luck. For one guildie it took 10 hours.

My second page took less than an hour, but my third took 7 or 8. My fourth took 3-4, and I haven’t gotten the last yet after several hours trying. None of these has the “extremely” low drop chance warning label. They merely say “a chance.” Even though recasting a line takes less time than waiting for a world boss to respawn or getting to the next active incursion, for me it’s been feeling very backwards that the one with the “extremely” low chance was by far the soonest one to drop for us both by quite a lot.

I definitely didnt imagine spending the 10th jubilee by camping worldbosses for 3 days straight... and still only have 1 out of 2 possible drops from them. This event is the most unfun event I ever saw in Eso, and this is supposed to be the big celebration?

Additional to my 25+ hours at worlbosses, I have done well over 100 geysers so far, also with no drop.

On top of that, those drops are massively triggering my fear of missing out, cause this whole ordeal is timely limited and the styles are not tradeable. So FOMO + doing nothing else than waiting for respawntimers for literally days + missing out on the initially planned fun activities during jubilee event makes this event the most nervewrecking event ever

Yeah the drop rates are beyond horrible.

I get that they want to keep us logged in as much as possible, but the activities are not entertaining after a few hours.

Geysers are such a mess. At least with dolmens (outside of Alik'r) you can get a jubilee box. In Summerset that is nearly impossible. So the result is you have to spend literal hours grinding without feeling like you are being rewarded for it. Such a bad feeling and the epitome of anti-fun.

Reminds me of camping in EQ back in the day. Maybe we didn't know any better back in 1999. But there are so many more options now that the idea of a senseless grind just lowers my engagement.

Would have been better to have these ultra rare pages be a random drop from ANY mob in Summerset or ANY mob in Vvardenfell, then at least we could play how we want in those zones.

Personally, the grind for this stuff is so totally awful, that it killed any sense of FOMO.

I just pick up what I can by chance. Not worth the time to try to collect most stuff, and not worth farming boxes in most events. The odds are just so low.

The boxes of the event are amazing. The specific sets are just a sidenote. Rare items are only valuable if they are actually rare.

Btw the event is extremly long, so if you keep grinding you will get the items you wish for anyways.

You are missing the point. The point being: an in-game celebration should not feel like a second job.

Imagine it's your birthday. You get some really good socks. Then you get a whole warehouse of boxes and are told there's a pair of really good socks in each and a chance for a new gaming PC to be in one of those. Opening a box is a bit boring and a tad time-consuming and it's not an activity you enjoy. But since the PC is a sidenote, it's ok, and you aren't going to feel frustrated and disappointed when you are at 1000th box and PC is not there, right?

Also, "the rare items should be rare" is a messed up point. Anniversary rewards shouldn't be rare in the first place and being proud of having something just because it has abysmal drop rate is... well, it's ok, if you have nothing else to be proud of.

    THAT. Absolutely.
ZOS thinks people have limitless free time, no jobs, families or chores - and are willing to invest their scarce free time to grind a cosmetic that should be a reward in the first place. I am giving up. I wasted enough time.

Agree. I'm pretty pleased with my loot and enjoying the addition of things like perfect roe, transmute gems, nirncrux in my party boxes. Even a fair number of new recipes/furnishing plans. And I appreciate the TLC decorating around wayshrines and some other areas. Good event in my book. Not respecting my time? How much easier can it be to get 3 tickets per day than eating a slice of cake? :)

That isn’t the point. We’re talking about limited time pages locked behind abysmal RNG, not eating cake for tickets.

    The droprate is horrible.

I legit spent a full day on dolmen. The fishing that was supposed to be extremely rare was finished in 2 nodes. Now I am spending a full day on geysers. I don't mind grinding, but this is a limited item during a celebratory event and there's many more players that can't spend that amount of time just on getting some stylepages.

I absolutely agree, and mirror the sentiments of those who have said this is the most un-fun anniversary event yet.

Also in previous years, it seems like the current motif style page (so, the Earthbone Ayleid style page) would drop from purple boxes too, once a day. In previous years I'd gotten into the habit of saving all my gold boxes, and keeping 30-40 purple boxes to open when I'd log on each day so I could get the motif.

I was quite surprised on day one after opening over 100 boxes and not getting an Earthbone Ayleid style page. Just another bit of disappointment. I always say this is my FAVORITE event, but it really just HASN'T been my fav this year.

I want to know which genius came up with the mount needing 25 fragments you can only get 1 a day in an event that doesn't last 25 days.

It should cost LESS fragments than days the event is long, AND the fragments shouldn't be bound so there could be a few extras floating around for people who couldn't play every single day.

If they wanted us to grind they should've not limited three out of the four drops to specific zones. Tying styles to Vvardenfell and Summerset only means there's gonna be bottlenecks in those areas, and people will not get their boxes with the amount of people killing world bosses and geysers way too quickly.

I got Trueflame on my eight fishing hole, I got Ul'vor's on my first geyser. And now I'm suffering 150+ dolmens in with no Staff of Worms, which is what I actually wanted the most. It's so silly. Do I even want the Staff of Worms when it faces the wrong way and has this VFX issue? And after getting the Staff of Worms, if I even get it, I suspect I'll be too burnt out of the grind to bother with Sunnarah and Barbas' helmet.

Abusing players' FOMO with those style pages and achievements that require tickets is definitely a step in the wrong direction. It's a shame that ZOS treats us in such a disgusting manner on their anniversary celebration.

So earlier I had to give up on the Geysers (had done around 5 hours or so and it just gave me a terrible headache). However since then, I did get the staff from the Dolmens in Deshaan after only 5 or 6 Dolmens and I got the sword from fishing after maybe 8 or 9 fishing holes (in Summerset, with Fishing Craft CP, Arteaum Picked Fish Bowl food buff and Sharp watching over me). Have yet to attempt Vvardenfell, but it is only day 3 out of 20.

RNG is brutal... And generous... And everything in between. But I guess my point is that hopefully we will all get all the style pages that we want. It just will not be fun trying to do so. And that is the issue here.

    ZOS... THIS IS NOT FUN.
