They don't even reward people who've subscribed to ESO+ for 5-10 years consecutively anything to show their appreciation. Why would they give anything away for free in game?

Well it appears that the 10 Year Anniversary will be happening over the next 15 months. There is a roadmap on line and hints to other events as was previously posted. I believe the Thieves Guild is on later this month or so it is hinted. Not sure what everyone wants or expects. Every event is a grind whether it is for mats, motiffs, pets, titles, tickets, etc. Why should this one be different? I have gotten plenty of perfect roe, motiffs, and other mats. Can't get tickets any easier than now, and 60 for this event is really nice. The daily free stuff is nice enough, and comes in handy. The fact pvp is granting boxes is a nice bonus as well.

I remember back in the days of ESO if we watched an episode on twitch of ESO from the Devs and such we got a like a castle mansion out in summerset i believe i have it and its rare big time. I only seen it on sale like once a few years ago for alot of crowns. 10th Anniversary should be better and bigger then what it is..... all they did was make a new cake lol.

Man, I'm old enough to remember those first-generation MMOs gifting players. I played Anarchy online back in 2001. Every anni after that bad first year they gave players gifts. The fifth-year gift was a flying vehicle and other years they gave us jet packs. They would do live streams in-game with giveaways too. They had a real radio station where they would do raffles of PC gear Heck devs would even log in to the game and hang out with players. Today you get nothing but grinds and devs would never log in to hang out with players.

Actually no, it wasn't a twitch drop. You had to discover all the Striking Locales in Summerset and Artaeum, and if you had characters on both megaservers you could do it on both. There was a pet, a mount, and the Grand Psijic Villa, which everyone accessed once a certain percentage of players had done the Locales. Don't remember the percentage levels now, way too long ago....

In the FAQ they explained that they would not provide hard numbers for their participation goals for these events.

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/summerfall

"What does the 100% on the meter actually mean?

The 100% completion goal on the Summerfall Event progress meter is a goal-post we set when designing this event that we believe our players have a high likelihood of reaching. We want our players to have fun with this event and successfully earn all three event rewards, and we chose a goal with that in mind.

While we aren’t disclosing numbers, we can confirm that “100%” does not mean 100% of all players who own ESO or even ESO: Summerset."

Weird analogy. Comparing a paid MMO and ESO+ with getting free mail service, free cloud storage of those mails and free constant security features like spam and virus scanning. U never spend a dime, yet get free stuff every day.

They've done that a few times. The first was for the Dragon Rise (Elsweyr) event in October 2019, where they also gave out the Bone Goliath target dummy. The second was for Bounties of Blackwood in October 2021, which had the Ogrim target dummy. The Heroes of High Isle event in late September-early October of 2022 also had them in the Ascendant Hoard box. I don't recall that Secrets of the Telvanni (the corresponding Necrom event for 2023) had crafting stations as part of the rewards, but I could be wrong.

They do all blend together. XD

If they did give some super special gift then it should be for people who have been around for the ten years. Show some solidarity with the people who have shown solidarity.

It ain't your anniversary if you haven't been playing since April 2014 (and earlier for betas).

I kinda understand what you (may) mean, but I disagree with the premise.

I was a beta tester. Due to several reasons, I did not recommend the game to my guild (we did form up, but game play was pretty horrible), and I refused to purchase or play on release. It was that disappointing and non-user-friendly to me. After Tamriel One was sorted out, I rejoined the game and haven't stopped playing since. Two accounts, both Plus.

    It definitely IS "my" anniversary.

I think that we can all agree that their only goal is to make money.

Well, that is their main goal since they are a business and stockholders would close the game down if it did not make money.

To do so they have to keep players interested in the game and a free gift will not do that and many would complain about what the gift was.

I agree about the crown exclusives being better. They are WAY better. And I think being able to purchase tickets with real money is really really bad. It completely breaks the feeling of accomplishment

There are no ZOS shareholders since the sale to MS.

Prior to that, the lead stockholder, prior to his death in 2020, publicly referred to Zenimax as a "cash cow" in an interview. (his words, not mine) Then after his death, in an interview with gamespot, a Zenimax representative is quoted as saying "Robert had served on the ZeniMax Board since the company’s founding in 1999. During that time he was a constant source of guidance and counsel for the company for more than two decades. ..."

And if you remember, Zenimax sold to MS for a record 7.5 Billion, dwarfing all prior sales of any similar company of it's kind.

Hi all, wanted to follow up on this thread. We have noted that the plan is to celebrate the 10yr anniversary over the next 15 months. So rather than give access to a thing for Anniversary Jubilee and that's it, we have several spotlights and opportunities for the community to get free loot and earnable in-game loot over the 15 month period. We started early last month with the Orsinium DLC and the new mount for completing the main quest line for Orsinium and we more planned. So if you haven't seen something that resonates with you so far, keep an eye out for more opportunities.

Thank you for the follow up, Kevin!

Can I ask: if the plan is to have free/earnable in-game loot over the 15-month period, rather than just for the Anniversary Jubilee, will the new Replica style pages also be extended through that time?

You can see from other threads that some players are investing significant time grinding these, with many players not yet finishing their collections after 20+ hours, and the strict time limit is a marked factor contributing to much of the stress and negative reactions. The pages are Bind on Pickup, apparently quite low drop rate, and limited to this one event, which is 19 days exactly. They also can't be acquired in any other way (e.g. through tickets).

If the availability of these pages were extended for the 15 months, so they were coextensive with the entirety of the celebration period, that might help alleviate some of the stress here while being consistent with the marketing of the anniversary as more than just a 19-day event. Just a thought.

It feels like just any other event to me.

The increased rewards in the daily quest coffers are fantastic; I appreciate getting motifs and mats. I'm also enjoying the double XP, finally leveling up some companions. Other than that, I'm just going about daily routine in the game, doing what I like. If that overlaps with event rewards, cool, if not, that's cool too.

I would've liked some bigger thank-you gesture that doesn't require money or tickets, especially since I've already played the game for 10 years and spent $1000s on it. Feels like that loyalty could be better rewarded. I think the anniversary mount should've been free. And there should've been some community goal that resulted in additional special unlocks. That's happened in years past, and while novel, it's still better than the ticket-management mini-game we all have to play.

I totally get that, and recognize the value of the rewards so far this year. But, to be fair, the rewards for completing a chapter should've been something like a mount or costume all along. Achievements, not just the hardest ones, should have an attractive cosmetic rewards because it inspires us to keep playing and refining our characters.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but that mount was only available during a limited time window. IMO, it should've stayed available, even if for just the 15 month celebration. You guys need to realize that large volume of time-limited and rare-drop items embitter a lot of people. That's not the sentiment you want underscoring the celebration. IMO, greater care needs to be shown so we feel like this is a celebration of the game, not the crown store.

Looking forward to seeing what comes over the next year or so. Some exciting content, for sure.
