Why not? They're just 1 ticket per slice and you get a total of 60 tickets in this event, not even counting if you already had spare tickets from past Jester's event.

no other event achievement has required spending tickets to complete when it was introduced (unless it was a really old thing that got moved to grab bags since it doesnt drop)
the amount of these is still like 3 days worth of tickets wasted on just this too
just feels like the achievement is "pay 2 win" because it costs event tickets, that are 1) a very limited resource and 2) can be bought with crowns (yes i know it doesnt really have any effect on gameplay, but its still a horrendous precedent to set)

Dont forget each is also a furnishing, its not just tickets for a title

Very limited resource? It's 7 cake slices and you can get 60! tickets, so you are left with 53 tickets! and you say tickets are very limited resource?
Obviously ZOS calculated this and gave us more tickets than usual so you can EASILY get your slices and still have a huge amount of tickets left.
No reason to complain.

That has nothing to do with spending 7 tickets on some achievements/furniture but with you missing old stuff that you will probably still be missing after this event, again, regarless spending or not 7 tickets in the cakes.

if only assuming this years stuff, as mentioned theres 2 parts of the personality for the morphable - 20 tickets total
then if you wanted the new anniversary mount, i dont think its possible to get all the fragments from drops if it is 1 per day, which i think you need another amount of tickets for that (i dont know exact details on that yet as i havent been in game yet to see what that cost is)
and then theres new style pages, which again if your having bad RNG and not getting the ones you need is also costing tickets
and that is just new items for this event
my main point is that no holiday achievement (when it was first added) required tickets to obtain, usually the items were obtained through the event by either participating in the event quest or from the event boxes
im not actually missing a lot of old stuff, but some people are, which makes the ticket budget even tighter unless your straight up buying event tickets with crowns

Yes, in all events you miss stuff because of main item fragments, pet fragments, style pages, furtniture, etc., so this event is no different.
Each player will decide what they want to spend their 60 tickets on, no difference with this event since, again, the cake slices are furniture too.
Also, there are players, a huge amount, one even posted above, that don't care about achievements, so once again it all comes to players choice (regardless it's an achievement, furniture, style pages, etc.)
Finally, there's a reason why you can buy tickets in the Crown Store in case of FOMO.

still missing the point that spending tickets has never ever been a requirement for an achievement when the achievement first released
those should be earnable in game by participating in the event, not spending a limited amount currency that can be paid for with real money

I didn't miss the point. I explained it's still a player's choice. Some players don't care about achievements. If you do, it's your choice.
And once again, you can buy tickets in the Crown Store if you're afraid of miss things out (achievements, furniture or, whatever).
By the way, you guys know that the cake slices ARE NOT BOUND so you can get them (trade or buy) from other players, right?
Necrotech_Master wrote: »if they arent bound, where are you getting them? since everything bought with tickets is bound (based on how the ticket vendor has worked for everything else)

This year is different and cake slices are not bound. Maybe for that reason so if you don't want to spend tickets you can get them from players that don't mind spending tickets on them and then trading or selling the slices.
Take it as another option that ZOS is giving us to get the cakes.

If so, I mean if there even is a possibility to buy it for RL cash, then it has no value at all lol. And obviously, something like this should not be a thing in an mmo, or any other "live service" multiplayer game. It devalues effort & time investment to "zero".

Achievements are arguably winning though. Kind of the point of them

How about the folks who, say, buy crowns with real money, trade the crowns for gold and then pay gold for a carry to get a trial achievement? You cannot say that this achievement is not bought with RL cash.
