Just think of maintenance as being caused by Tho'at replicanum. Zos just has to go in and kill her a few times every once in awhile

This is Update 41 & Scions of Ithelia DLC. This was going to happen regardless of what maintenance we had last week.

However, since IA is kind of free of access, Tho'at still gets her way. XD

This is a normal 6-hour maintenance to publish the first DLC update of the year, not an emergency 12-hour maintenance to fix a major problem that a lot of players were experiencing with daily login rewards. Apples and oranges.

Why did the maintenance go into maintenance?

Because it needed maintenance to maintain its maintenance!

I really start to believe that Zenimax plans maintenance only to have to do more maintenance the next day.

With all this craziness, maintenance almost every day, one day developers will find themselves maintaining the maintenance, opening the game to fix the bugs during maintenance. Lol.

Hopefully they can be restored, rebuilding several outfits can get expensive quite fast and not everyone has millions of gold.
If the outfits can't be restored, the players affected by the bug should be granted a few outfit change tokens.

Maintenance is part of any online service game. I've seen communities for other video games practically riot over the extended downtime their games had for the launch of a major update. I don't understand the criticism about maintenance for fixing critical issues, especially when this game just had a major update.
