Got a third social ban for nothing.

Wow! I got a social ban again for nothing. This is a record for bans in 2024, because in 3 years I have not received a social ban, and now I receive one every 2 weeks. What's the matter? I didn't break anything. I didn’t spam, I didn’t insult anyone, I didn’t spoil anything for anyone, but I still get banned from the social network once again... It’s becoming unbearable.

"Spamming" notification when you got kicked is about too many requests from your game client, not about chat.
Just check your addons that could try to do things too fast, especially if there are more than one.
It could be inventory manager (moving items too fast), trading addon (requesting item lists), combat metrics (too many report messages to the system chat) etc.

BTW the easiest way to get this error by hands is opening guild history (for example in trading guild) and pessing E many many times to get more. You'll get kicked for spamming in 1-2 minutes without using chat.

I had a friend get a social ban this weekend for a totally unknown reason. They didn't get an email explaining why, and they haven't gotten a response from their ticket in over 24 hours. This happened to someone who never insults anyone or does anything that would warrant a social ban. He hasn't even gotten an explanation as to what happened and why. Just a silent social ban and no response to their ticket.

Why is ZOS handing out these social bans like Halloween candy with no explanation and a very slow response time to reverse the unearned bans? What's going on here?

I wonder if the new Gold Road chapter is causing false alarms? I could see stuff in chat like, "So we can't buy Gold Road with crowns, only cash?" triggering automated monitoring tools that look to block gold sellers and bots...

It's not comments on gold road that's doing it. ZOS has a faulty autoban AI in place and the vast majority getting these social bans have done nothing what so ever to earn them. Then they have to spend days to weeks hoping ZOS will reverse their ban.

Just out of curiosity do you get a notification when you get a social ban ?

Because I probably wouldn't even notice if I would get one if there's no notification. I do use a lot of addons and yeah sometimes they can flood requests when misfunctioning.

If you've received a social ban on your account, you would receive an error message after logging into ESO.

Why not an email explaining why the ban was implemented? Bans of any kind warrant a written explanation.

They never tell you why, because then folks would better be able to circumvent it.

I have the social ban as well. Happened 3/20. I placed a ticket 3/21 and have received no response. I think it was from a combination of add ons I was using but I can't be sure. I have received no notification to tell me I'm banned or why.

I have to say that I have done absolutely nothing to have this kind of problem.

I have submitted a ticket and for 24 hours, I have not received any response.

Similar situation. I've had my social ban lifted 3-4 times already, it's becoming unbearable to play. I asked technical support about reasons for social ban, but every time answer was “we don’t have the information, the system automatically issues social bans.” Thus, I can only guess what reason for such bans is, but perhaps it is due to one of my usual addons. But again - I use them all, they are all convenient, and which one causes such a reaction from game client - I don’t know.

What is your list of addons?

@ZOS_Bill @ZOS_Kraken remove my social ban pls, by the way. And tell the engineers that some players repeatedly receive such a ban and this makes the game uncomfortable.
