What happened in this fight - battleground

Hi. I have a Warden with Pariah and Rallying cry. 38k Health. 33k resistances and 3500k crit resist. My question is how can I die in less than 3 secs to a stamsorc using way of fire which only hit for 3k with no vat staff or masters dual wield. I can usually handle 3 to 4 people at once and last for minutes. What could have happened besides a lag spike? And with the other people in the BG it was the usual long fights but this Sorc owned my sorry a**. Maybe an exploit??

sorcs are really good at high burst (crystal weapon + overload + enchantment proc can really hurt along with if they hit you with mages wrath and curse), while you note stam sorc, they can still use all of these skills pretty effectively (crystal weapon already stam, overload is ult)

they also can have high pen so the 33k armor is probably only about 10-15k armor to a proper equip sorc

you also have less mitigation without cp in the BGs, so time to kill is lower

wearing certain gear wont prevent you from dying against a skilled player, same goes for the attacking player just wearing specific gear wont guarantee a kill either

Of course. But with vigor and arctic going and holding block I am confused as no other sorc or class/spec had done that.

Maybe, I have used Shell Splitter and it does take time to build up pen unless you're using a lightning staff. Unless its hurricane thats seen as attacking damage then it would build up as soon as he was in melee range. Once maintenance is over I will try it on my stam sorc

Wouldnt shell splitter eat though non tanky players?

Sorc is just incredibly strong class. It's sad but true. Sorc has even better dmg than nb, and it's the best 1vX class due to mobility. Even when you are winning fight, they can just streak 2 times, and you can do nothing about it. I have tried many 1v1 and many bg, and for me Sorc is hardest class to beat.

Probably lag or even just a desync in damage being reported to you. In those cases you can really only tell by the recap. Or if something like that happens I'll usually go fight them again to see if they can repeat. But yeah it's possible to have a full damage high pen build on sorc and overloads could have been weaved in to achieve that much damage in a very short window.

It seems you are playing on PC, install https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1360-CombatMetrics.html or at least https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1319-ImprovedDeathRecap.html

Then you'll be able to tell exactly what happened, if needed with the help of people here that will be happy to examine your screenshots of the logs.
