Iceshard Staff

I really don't know if this is a bug or if it is intended to be this way, but....
When "sheathed" the Iceshard Staff is not visible. I kind of like it this way, and yet I don't.hccyajc6zpb0.jpg

    That is intended.

As per the tooltip, all of the Iceshard weapon styles are designed to be invisible when stowed, just like the Gloambound weapons. If you have an effect on them (like Empower, or everyone's favorite Grim Focus), the glow will hang around until the effect expires (or in the case of Grim Focus, until you unslot the skill), but the weapon itself is only visible when unsheathed.

You telling me that with one of those weapon NBs go around with this red dot following them from nowhere :D ????

@zos_kevin please extend my appreciation to the team responsible for the permaglow on grim focus for such good change that shows how much ZOS really respect their customers.

Yes, actually. And there's an entire thread of people showing it off, and making the point that it looks more than a little ridiculous.

Since the Grim Focus effect was made permanent, its glow hasn't done much. It used to inform us that the skill was active so we knew when to reapply it, and the basegame stack counter told us how close we were to a bowproc, and then the icon radically changed to show it was ready. Now the glow hangs around simply from slotting the skill, the basegame stack counter doesn't work so you need an addon to count your stacks for you, and the icon only gets an edge glow which is easier to miss. It's... not been a popular change, but like everything else on the internet, there are people who also think that the glow is essentially a free Arms pack for NBs only, so they don't need to spend Crowns to get anything else because they like the red.

But that's a topic for another thread...

I have the Gloambound and Iceshard weapon styles, and they differ in that the Gloambound are invisible when stowed (to yourself and every other player) but the Iceshard can be seen by other players when stowed. I had been seeing so many players running around with them sheathed and completely visible. I put in a bug report as I'm not sure if it's intended.

I just noticed this with the Iceshard bow, when stowed, it's invisible except for the red arching glow from the stupid grim focus permaglow.

It's a good thing that I usually just use my dual blades over my bow then. :|

Would've been nice to see the bow with my character's Christmas outfit when it's not drawn though, and without that ever present glow affecting it.
