Do not change ability altering arena weapons

We’re adjusting this set to no longer grant a flat damage increase for anyone using it, to one that is meant to shine for damage-oriented builds. This should significantly lower the pressure and kill potential the set is enabling for tankier builds in PvP, while retaining its potency for those who focus on damage over survivability.

There are several players with disabilities that turn to Arena weapons to help raise the floor on their damage that often only play with Oakensoul Ring builds.

This will sound like a bash, but it's not intended. ZOS and the Developers have often tried using item sets to set balance in the game. In Update 41, they are in the right direction to update the core classes of the game to be competitive against the "behind the pay wall" classes since their the first experience players begin ESO on. However, Arena weapons should continue to offer flat bonuses or power effects because there are a lot of players with disabilities or medical reasons that do use these weapons. I feel this demographic of players should not be penalized or anyone else who grinds the arenas for ability altering weapons because PVP min-max game play has beaten the developers in game balance.

Do not repeat past errors when you could put a resistance cap under Battle Spirit.

But this is balance for PvP only - normal damage dealers in PvE still can use it in effective way. You will loose dps only if you make typical tank build which in PvE in ineefective anyway.

Change is great to be honest, because instead of just nerfing a set (which would be a shame) they just limited it power to be avaible only for dd builds, crippling tank builds. This is how it should be.

I would advise taking a quick glance at the community rules stickied to the top of the forum subcategory and then removing the first word of the thread title.

It will save you a strike.

I like that their assigning the set only for dd builds.

However, here is an actual case example on why I am expression "due caution" on changing ability altering sets.

I watched a player stream his gameplay that was doing Maelstrom Arena for the first time with his 1-bar Dragonknight with nearly 6k health recovery that was trying to find arena weapons to help his build. Now, for many players this is an unorthodox build with a lightning staff. However, the player liked the tankier style of the class and there are certain items in game that assist the person enjoy the game and feel accomplished.

These items include the Oakensoul Ring and those ability altering sets that offer those with disabilities or have medical reasons that make it difficult to bar swap. This mythic (while great) also limits choices. In my case example, it made sense for the player to stack Health Recovery so the player could complete harder content and how these ability altering sets do have a niche benefit for some players.

I also understand the reasoning for the change. They could put the same resistance cap with diminishing returns in the same fashion outside of PVP.
